You’re walking through your life, minding your own business, and doing what needs to be done, one day to the next, when “out of the blue,” you are hit by the winds of change. You may not know it, but these moments in your life are calls from Spirit. And, if you answer the call, you can step into a more expanded, more joyful and more exciting Life than you were living before.

However, I wasn’t listening for a call from Spirit the day I was minding my own business and just living my life as usual. I was not expecting that my life, as I had known it, would be forever altered after that day.

If you’re like me, when your life changes in a moment, you are stunned and it takes some time to acknowledge that what is happening is real. Because it seems very surreal.

For you, it could be the diagnosis of a serious illness striking you or a loved one. Perhaps, it is the breakup of a relationship, or the sudden ending of your job. Maybe you suffered a serious injury and have to take time off to recover. Or, perhaps you learned of the death of a loved one, family member (including your pets), or a friend.

Let me share one of the first times I was struck “out of the blue.” Picture a beautiful day, temperatures probably in the mid-to high-80’s, and a couple of free hours before my shift at work began. What would you do with this time? I wanted to be outside, soaking up some sun and fresh air. So, I packed a lunch and drove to a park on the edge of town, a beautiful mountainous park with lots of trails and places to commune with nature.

I hiked to an area that was away from the trails, as I just wanted a quiet place to read, eat my lunch, and breathe the fresh air. I felt the calm and healing that such a beautiful place brings to the soul. It was in this peaceful setting that I would experience terror as I’d never known and the beginning of my transformation.

“The day of major change looks like any other day. You wake up and look outside and see nothing that even hints at the intensity and inevitability of what is to follow. This is a day that will alter who you are forever, and yet there is no banner across the sky that proclaims this rite of passage.” (excerpt from TheWinds of Change, page 2)

What followed next was a violent assault by a stranger. The details are not important, but the lessons are. I didn’t realize at the time that this terrifying event would begin a spiritual transformation, one that would continue for the rest of my life. I also didn’t realize at the time that it was a blessing in disguise, as it helped to “awaken” me to Life.

I capitalize Life because I believe that we often are simply sleepwalking through our lives, yet we are given moments to awaken and experience Life. These moments, such as my assault, arrive often ‘out of the blue,” and can feel like punishment more than a gift. It is easy to feel victimized by life’s circumstances. However, when you are a victim, you are in a powerless position. There is another way.

What about the Gift?

So, let’s look at how my assault and other life challenges can be gifts. I know that the death of my mother and my sister (both happening around the same time as the assault) didn’t feel like gifts either. Yet these deaths and the ensuing grief process contributed to my spiritual growth and continued awakening.

I certainly did look back years later at all three events and see the gift in the results: the fantastic inner growth that happened as a result of the healing process. Much of the growth was due to the choices I made for support for my emotional and spiritual healing.

What I didn’t know is that this transformation process can happen with more ease, purpose and joy when approached pro-actively, rather than just through reaction and a laissez-faire attitude. You know the old saying, “if I knew then, what I know now.”

Choose the Call Right Away

Many years later, a trio of challenges came my way, and I chose to accept the call right away. These events were a car accident, followed by the death of my father, and then the death of my marriage (once again in a short period of time). The day after the car crash, I created the intent to use the energy of this event to transform into the next best version of myself. I really wanted to avail myself of the spiritual energies that I knew were waiting for me to open to faster growth.

What a difference it makes to have incredibly effective tools to meet the strong emotions, the changes that accompany these challenges, and the confusing choices that must be made for healing and moving forward positively.

Easy and Effective Energy Tools

I teach my clients how to use the energy around them to move with change instead of pushing and resisting it. Every thought is made of energy, and each thought comes to you via one of your subconscious beliefs. Some of them are supporting you, and others are getting in your way and sabotaging your best efforts to succeed.

Thus, the subconscious mind is an integral part of your healing and awakening process. When you are experiencing obstacles in your life, or when you feel “stuck” in certain behaviors or patterns, it is likely that you hold a subconscious belief that is not in alignment with your conscious desire or goal to move forward.

Get Into Your Subconscious the Easy Way

Music began to come through me as I transformed from the first major challenges. This music helped me to heal, and later helped my clients in their processes. What I discovered over the years is that music can be a powerful, effective and easy energy tool to use intentionally to not only heal, but to move into the subconscious layer and do its magic for you. And by doing so, you have the opportunity to heal and transform with more ease, and with greater enjoyment than you can imagine.

By learning how to use intentional music, you can make your life and challenges work for you with more ease, balance and joy. You can begin today to tap into this powerful energy tool. With your intent in place, take some time today to listen to music that supports where you want to go. Songs that have lyrics that align with your goals and dreams for your life can assist you in moving there more quickly, and with more enjoyment.
