EFT is great for improving self-confidence. You really want a mind that is controlled by you, not those negative and self-critical thoughts that creep in. Well, in EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, those negative thoughts are said to be kept active by energy. This is like a way-too-bright light that keeps you awake all night, being kept on by an electric current. Of course, we can turn off that harsh or too bright a light and get some nice sleep, right? All we have to do is turn off the switch. Failing that, we can take out the plug at the mains.

Well, that is how EFT works with those horrible self-deprecating and critical thoughts. EFT can remove the "electricity" keeping the harsh thoughts in your mind and switch off those annoying negative self-critical words and feelings. No more too-harsh a light, bring on the soft candles and soothing music of the mind. Then your mind is your own and you can think happy encouraging thoughts.

EFT does that with a clever mixture of specific acupressure and targeted releasing wording. Anyone can learn EFT.

In time, you can find yourself believing only the things that will bring you what you truly desire-and deserve. Anyone can have confidence. It is as easy as releasing the not-confidence. And, it is much easier than you may have once believed. It is a matter of following some easy steps. In this article, we cover a really simple one.

By mimicking people who have self-confidence, you can fake it till you make it. In the end, it will come naturally. So, the lesson we are learning today is to carry yourself like you have confidence. Before you do, tap the following statement, without numbers (SUDS or SUE scale) on all the points you normally use in EFT. Tap it 5 times and then attempt the rest of the exercise: “I am willing to carry myself with confidence today. I am willing to fake it till I make it. I am willing to make it a fun game. And that's OK”.

Then sit like you have confidence, head held up high, shoulders down and back eyes not to the floor but simply happily looking around you or looking at a wall, a painting, or a book. Next, walk like you have confidence, body straight, not slouched, smiling calmly to yourself. Ignore your negative thoughts for a while and simply concentrate on the physical attributes of this confident act.

Stop and tap again; tap the following statement, without numbers (SUDS or SUE scale) on all the points you normally use in EFT. Tap it 5 times and then attempt the rest of the exercise: “I am willing to carry myself with confidence today. I am willing to fake it till I make it. I am willing to make it a fun game. And that's OK”.

Do this every day for two weeks and see how you feel. Remember, if you maintain a confident sitting, standing, and walking stance long enough, your mind will follow through and think confident thoughts too. Try it. Enjoy it. Make it a fun game!
