Have you ever taken a power nap? Then, you know how refreshing you feel once you are awake and have stretched out your body. It has been scientifically proven how much good a power nap will do for someone who is in a stressful job or situation. Think how much better you would feel if you could take bursts of energy and infuse them into your body during the day. You certainly can’t take naps at your desk but you CAN meditate. People who meditate with regularity already know that it can relieve stress and make you feel like you have had eight hours of refreshing sleep.
Short meditations are just a powerful as a long, deep meditation. These 3-5 minute meditations can energize you and change your entire state and open you up to whatever you are trying to attract into your life at the time. Some psychic practitioner believes that you don’t need more than 17 seconds to magnetize. 3-5 minutes can really fill you with bursts of energy that allow you to get things done fast. These are definitely power meditations.
Meditation is something that allows a person to be quiet within his/her own mind and self. It slows down the heart rate and the body and allows you to open your chakras and draw new energy into your body. The Buddhists know the benefit of meditation and their priesthood all use the practice to get in touch with the spirit of the Buddha but you, as a person of any type faith or belief can use it to become more aware of your surrounding world. You can use the practice to remove negativity from your mind and to invite in constructive thoughts. Not all meditations follow the Buddhist path.
It is not difficult to learn to meditate. When you are beginning, you should find a quiet place where you can be alone. If you wish to light a candle and put on some soothing music, that is alright. Some people like to find a place beside running water, like a fountain. Others like to meditate on the beach while listening to the waves. Whatever makes you feel relaxed and clears your mind it what you should do.
• Sit cross legged and let your arms fall naturally into your lap or by your sides.
• Take a deep breath in through your nose and then let it out, slowly, through your mouth.
• Repeat this breathing process several times until you start to feel like you are slightly removed from the situation (this might be a light headed feeling for some people).
• Begin to relax your body. Relax your face. Relax the muscles in your neck; relax your shoulders; and so forth.
• Begin to pull in energy from the spirit through your crown chakra and down into your body until it flows out your toes.
• At this point, if you have a tape for a guided meditation, turn on that tape and follow the instructions of the spiritual advisor.
If you have a special intention, it should be inserted into your meditation. This will help you communicate that intention to the spirit and to make it manifest quicker in your life. Using guided intention meditations from a spiritual advisor such can give you a big advantage over just trying to conduct your meditation by yourself. You can also make your own audio tape with whatever intention you desire in it. The message will play while your mind is opened to the words that the spiritual advisor is saying on the audio tape that is running while you meditate.
Choosing the right time to meditate will also help your intentions manifest quicker. Meditation just prior to going to bed can aid you in relaxing and being ready to go to sleep. By the time your tape is finished your mind will be in the receptive state that is necessary to commune with the spirit.
During the day you can devote your break time to a short meditation rather than going out for a cigarette or coffee or soda. This and a bottle of water will be much better for your body than either of those and you will find that you will be greatly energized and better able to do your job the remainder of the day.
