It's a mouthful but it's true: each of us has a bit of innate magnanimous magnificence! See, the word "magnanimous" is an adjective. It means "free from petty resentfulness or vindictiveness." It also means "high-minded" and "noble". What an awesome self-realization! To think that we have within us the ability to be "noble", to stand up tall, to be confident in Who We Are and to walk right past all that resentment and vindictiveness we think we rightly deserve to feel.
So very many people in this world have so many reasons to be resentful and vindictive. So many people choose to hold on so tightly to those feelings that they don't even realize that those negative vibrations of thought are literally eating away at them - destroying them from the inside out. That's where all manner of disease comes from.
Our physical bodies take on all the negativity of our mental ruminations and we think we are succeeding against those who have harmed us. The exact opposite happens. It's as if we think we are mentally giving the perpetrator a drink of poison, wanting them to die, literally or figuratively, and all we are doing is killing ourselves!
Since our mind has more power over our bodies than we think it does, it seems that we need to get our walk and our talk into a more congruent state. We are magnificent, how can we not be? We are made in the Image of Perfection. We are created with the purest "First Thought" to be the highest example of love. We are magnificent because we were given the mind and the heart to realize that we have the ability to rise above anything, anything at all, that is cast in our lives that might cause us pain. We are magnificent because we have the ability to see that holding onto that pain will cause us nothing but "P-overty, I-nsecurity, A-nxiety, and N-euroses." That poverty is not only financial, but most often mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual poverty as well.
When we choose to exemplify magnificence every day, we find that the world is a much easier place to live. The situations we deal with seem to be easier to accept. The events that may have immobilized us in the past seem easier to overcome. We find that our existence is not in vain because most people we come in contact with will see a reflection of peace, contentment, acceptance, and love shining out at them through the window of our souls. They may not consciously realize it, but deep down, they will know there is something magnificent about us. They will see it in our countenance, they will see it in our smile, and in the very essence of Who We Are. There's surely no better way to live than in the reflection of magnificence!
