There are many benefits of feeling connected with the Divine. These benefits include--and are certainly not limited to--increased abundance, well-being, peace of mind, optimism, and/or faith. You do not need to “set time aside” in your life to connect with God, although it’s great if you can.

<img src="http://www.transformationmadeeasy.com/matchmadeinheaven/images/mmih.jpg" align="right" height="250">In most relationships, an ongoing fight simmers just below the surface. Sometimes the conflict appears subtle but at other times it is outright war. People have grown up in a sea of discord and have been socialized to expect it and accept it. In other words, fighting is "normal."
We recently received a phone call from one of our clients. She was frantic. She couldn't get it all done. There were so many deadlines. There was so much to produce, and there was so little time. We had a conversation with her and within 10 minutes, she gave up feeling overwhelmed, had gotten back to work and by the end of the day informed us that all of the things that she thought were impossible to get done in time for the deadlines had been completed impeccably and in fact, she had even accomplished more than she dreamt was possible.
It was a cold sunny day in New Jersey and the first thin layers of ice were forming on our pond. We were scheduled to go to Pilates that day, our private exercise class with a trainer, but we liked doing some cardio workout first. Usually, weather permitting, we would take a walk through town before our class. Even with the sun out the cold was not appealing, so we opted for a more rigorous half-hour of exercise on our treadmill and elliptical machines. Here is what happened:
December 1, 1974, I was 22 years old and about to give birth to my first child, a little girl already named Maegan. After many hours of hard labor and asking for pain relief I was given a spinal block for anesthesia at the very end of the birth process. The OB/GYN administered it himself instead of following protocol and paging the on call anesthesiologist. He gave it to me too high in the spine and it anesthetized my heart and lungs which shut them down. My then husband was asked to leave and he passed out right outside the labor room door.
In this world where technology has eclipsed our humanity, many of us are looking for a way to operate in our lives that fulfills our spiritual nature. People have tried different religions or disciplines with varying degrees of success or failure. They have taken motivational workshops to try to discover some meaning to apply to their lives and many have come away wondering, "Is this all there is?" This vague sense of emptiness or dissatisfaction, can permeate our lives, even when we accomplish the goals we set for ourselves.
Are you proud of yourself that you no longer lose your temper, bite your finge ails, or have a messy desk? Perhaps you feel as if you have finally arrived since you no longer wait until the last minute to "do your homework". But have you ever thought that you were finished with a pesky old habit and then unexpectedly find that it is there all over again? You know: You thought you kicked a habit once and for all and suddenly, for no apparent reason, you are nibbling those nails, or procrastinating once again? Bummed when it happens? Don't worry – Think Peppermint!
At age 14 I was a willowy little thing with long blonde hair and braces. Not yet old enough to drive, I was grown-up enough to ride the bus from our town of Gresham, Oregon to downtow Portland for my orthodontist appointments. I liked going to Portland - it made me feel worldly and mature. On the way home I frequently stopped at the street corner flower vendors for a bunch of bright mini carnations to bring back for a teacher or the school librarian – just a little gift to give something back to those who were investing in me.
Several years ago my husband and I went to Hawaii to visit our daughter who lived there with her husband and their little daughter. My son-in-law is in the Navy and they were stationed there. They loved Hawaii and even though they were to be transferred to Jacksonville, FL for three years, I knew they would want to return to Hawaii as soon as they could choose their next duty station. On the way home from Hawaii my husband and I discussed how we could support them in buying a home in Hawaii.

Did anyone ever say something to you that you found offensive? What did you do: walk away in a huff ... talk back to him or her ... "stand up" for yourself and then feel lousy later? Take the "high road" and feel crummy later? How about lying awake at night, rehearsing all of the better things you could have said ... smarter things you should have said ... or plotting the really good comebacks that you will lay on the offensive party next time you get the chance?
Serenity, well-being, feeling OK being you, feeling good in your own skin, not having to second guess your choices, trusting that you will do the right thing, these are but a few of the things we have found while working with people that most folks are striving for. People say they want inner peace but are afraid that what they might have to change about themselves will threaten what they hold to be true. So even though they say they want inner peace, they are afraid to relax into the moment and discover what else is possible.

What you already "know" is keeping you from discovering what is possible. There is a story about a college professor who is interested in learning about Zen that demonstrates this idea:

You may have heard the word kundalini but never experienced or even knew what it was. Kundalini normally lies dormant in most people but for those trained, it often awakens with a vengeance. The word kundalini means coil in Sanskrit. It describes the coil of 3 circles in every individual. It is an energy source that cleanses the charkas and develops them into full-blooming lotus forms. The awakening of your energy source to cleanse these until it reaches the crown chakra located at the top of your head.

This month is the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, 2001. Below is the transcript of an interaction we had with a participant at a Monday Night Alive! shortly after those devastating events. As we read it, we felt that that interaction is still appropriate and applicable to the lives of people today. So we are sharing this article with you to read with fresh eyes.
Below is an article investigating a driving force in people's lives, their agendas. There are agendas that people are aware of and then there are those of which they are unaware. It is the latter that causes the mischief that shows up in our daily lives. In this column, we are going to identify some of the typical types of agendas the two of us have seen during the course of working with people over the past 12 years. It has been our experience that when people see what they have been doing mechanically and don't judge what they see, they then have a choice to continue their actions or not.

Have you been experiencing that lately that people are always late to always late for meetings? That's the law of attraction in action; somehow you haven't been true to your own values. It's never about the other people really; it's about us being firm and clear about what we want and staying true to ourselves. And we are the ones who teach others how to treat us, it's we that need to set up some boundaries and let others know about them. We don't need to tell them about our preferences or anything, but we do need to act accordingly to what is true to us.

Do you remember when you learned to walk? Of course not. But whether you remember it or not, you had a great teacher: gravity. Gravity is the greatest teacher. It is never angry. It is never frustrated with you when you fall off balance. It is implacable, impartial, relentless, and uncompromising. You cannot pacify gravity by being on good behavior. Gravity is never sentimental.

Recently, a fellow came to see us who considers himself an adult. According to the story of his life, he has survived his painful childhood. But his interpretation of the childhood which he survived comes from the distortions and misrepresentations of a child’s mind. Let’s be specific. “David” has spent many years seeing different therapists and psychiatrists, examining his childhood as a way of explaining his adult failings, depressions, and sense of insufficiency, inadequacy, and insecurity.
What if you are doing your life perfectly? What if the things that you think are failings on your part are not really failings at all? Has it ever occurred to you that as a child you perfectly absorbed information from your environment, learning wholeheartedly when your brain was not yet able to disce truth from fiction nor to apply reason and thought? Our friends Amy and Andy have a beautiful little boy, Alex. We were privileged to be at the hospital when he was born and have watched him on his journey from infancy to early childhood.
It was still cool at 6:30 in the morning as we strolled barefoot with Susan dow Costa Rica's Manuel Antonio beach. We were in the midst of one of our Costa Rican Self Discovery Adventures that we hold each winter. People come from all over the world to join us and use it as a time to get away from the normal routine of one's life and relax. It is opportunity to look at the mechanics of your life in a gentle, lush environment without judging what you discover; a time to play and let your life unfold.

This game changes your universe. It’s portable, simple to use in your daily life plus it’s empowering. Play it and you can liberate joy from within. It gets to the heart of problems you have with others so long standing issues can be cleared. “Perception is projection,” means that whatever you perceive to be outside yourself is ---on some level--- part of you. Jung summarised this when he said, “you marry your unconscious mind and then spend the rest of your life projecting out onto it”.
This statement…”Life is never what you think it is” is the perfect statement you can say when life doesn’t turn out to be what you thought it was going to be? Do you ever know what life is going to be? Yes and No!
Robert Lewis Stevenson wrote “The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" in 1886. The central theme of the story is of two very different men who inhabit the same body. His characterization of the respectable Dr Jekyll, who turns into the ugly and deformed Mr Hyde has so griped the collective imagination that this story of duality is well known by virtually everyone. The story is about the ego and it’s shadow, that dark feared part of our self that follows us wherever we go and “can look even the more sinister the more we try to stand in the light.”

I first learned about saying affirmations many years ago after reading Louise Hay's books. She is an expert on them, and they were a huge part of her recovery from cancer. They can be both powerful and life changing. If you haven't said affirmations before, it might feel a bit strange at first. Especially when what you are saying doesn't feel real yet. For example, say your affirmation is, "I live a calm, balanced life." You created this affirmation because this is what you want for yourself - this is how your ideal life looks.
For years I have considered the notion of living a balanced life as very important however in practice, it seemed elusive. I wasnât entirely certain what balanced meant. How far do I need to move the needle on the gauge in one area of my life to get things on course without another area coming off course in the process of diverting my attention? After having read Stephen Covey's "The 8th Habit - From Effectiveness to Greatness" a few years back, I was able to see things fro
"Just stay positive" is what we hear as we grow from children into adults from teachers, parents and peers; however, why are some unable to grasp this concept, while others potentially take it for a great leap of faith?
Lucid dreaming may occur intentionally or quite by accident. Many often have a lucid dream by accident and realize they can control the destiny of their dreams. A lucid dream occurs when the dreamer realizes he's asleep and dreaming and takes control of the dream. It may be to solve a problem in waking life, control a problem within the dream or simply direct the dream to an enjoyable experience. Athletes, actors and dancers often practice their avocation during a lucid dream. Everyone has had a lucid dream at least once in a lifetime.
What is multiple identity disorder? The non-clinical version is when you show up with a different personality or set of values depending on who you’re with. You can know for sure if this applies to you by asking yourself this, “would people describe me differently depending on who I asked?”
The most important decision you ever make is whether you live in a friendly universe or a hostile universe, according to Einsteinâs great genius. So, either you see the world as a positive or a negative environment, you are right. Quote: âTo walk your path, you must walk it alone. It is the home you own and where you belong." We travel on this journey called life with high hopes of making good choices. We must be willing to change the course of our paths at any time to find our true lifeâs purpose. Do not take your life for granted. You were born for a reason. Follow your heart and there you will find the key to your destiny. No more blame games or lame excuses why we cannot accomplish our goals. N
It feels so good to know that we are appreciated. It is a wonderful feeling to learn that our actions have inspired someone. And while we all are constantly inspired by others and admire the amazing work that our mentors are doing, how often do we stop and let them know how much they mean to us? How often do we thank them for making our world so much brighter with their actions, words, art, and love? How often do we tell them how much their inspiration has impacted our own lives in such a positive way?
Life doesn’t control you. What you believe about it, does. – Alan Cohen Have you ever noticed how babies are fully engaged in whatever is happening around them? They’re like this fluid energy that is connected and interrelating with everything. They are experiencing life. This is what it means to be in your heart, fully engaged with how you feel, in oneness with all that is. They haven’t learnt to separate themselves from their experience by viewing life through the lens of a self-made belief structure. Experiences happen and pass through their awareness.
"You grow in awareness by becoming conscious of what is unconscious in mindfulness meditation. You have been meditating for years thinking your mind is still in meditation, and then suddenly you see you have been lost in your thinking the whole time without even knowing it. Because of our conditioning, the tendency is to feel down about yourself, to feel like this realization that you have been unconscious for so long means you have failed.
Signs from the Universe is everywhere - pay attention. Be aware of what is coming your way today, as the universe is constantly giving us hints and clues of the next step to take and where we're headed. A lot of people are not aware of these subtle signs that is revealed to us all the time so I wanted to create some heightened awareness around this.
Everyone has a story to tell. Some of the stories that make up your existence are empowering and very uplifting, some create shackles that keep you stuck where you are. Woven within your stories are your beliefs, which create your reality. A popular pastime is to carry stories around like a badge of honour, bringing them out in a show-and-tell fashion as a means of defining our reality. Expressing past experiences is a good start to the process of clearing pain from past traumatic events.

SPEAK SUCCESSFULLY WITH SWITCHWORDS “Remind yourself that loving words and loving thoughts seem to be supercharged with power to produce good.” ---Catherine Ponderr How would you like to have words that turn your subconscious mind on like a light switch to create more of what you want? This may be better relationships, enhanced peace, creativity or abundance. Switchwords, created by James Mangan in the 1960’s, for many people, do just that.
Assumptions are made too often and ordinarily will not get anyone too far while trying to get to the bottom of most issues that arise. For some, assuming answers, rather than allowing facts to be discovered, can come naturally to an individual. This person may have used this method for so long without ever fully comprehending the core source of why they assume or how others feel when the inclination is performed.

When you believe in yourself, anything is possible. We all face it on occasion: those times when energy management becomes an issue! It can show itself in many guises, such as general insomnia (either with falling asleep or staying asleep), exhaustion, erratic mood swings or a feeling of heaviness/lowness, like you’re being held down. No matter what’s causing it – it often doesn’t seem to have a measurable “cause” – it can leave you feeling drained, depressed or even angry. This is not conducive to being all you can be!
Albert Einstein's famous equatio E=mc2 proved that everything in the universe is energy. The physical existence of our reality and the abstract reality of our mind are made from an energy pattern. The concept of a universal energy is not a new one. Chinese people call this energy chi and the ancient Hindus called it prana. Two of the arts that developed in those two cultures - t'ai chi and yoga, are based on the art of tapping into the flow of energy and using it to balance one’s self.

The French Algerian philosopher, Albert Camus, expounded the philosophy known as absurdism. According to absurdism, although life is meaningless human beings are faced with the dilemma of hankering for meaning in a meaningless world. Camus says that there are three ways of resolving this dilemma: 1) Commit suicide. (Camus rejects this as cowardly.) 2) Believe in a transcendental reality beyond the absurd. (Camus rejects this as philosophical suicide because it amounts to the destruction of reason, which is just as fatal as the suicide of the body.) 3)Accept the Absurd.
Your mind is a valuable tool that most people don't use to its fullest. If everyone used it to the maximum capability, there would be no more war, illness or anger. We simply access a small portion. This is not true of every civilization or person. Some use means to increase their awareness and access the supe atural powers of their mind. It proves that we all are capable. Taoist of China had a background that acknowledged mysticism and control of the elements. Like many early civilizations, they practiced shamanism.
Selflessness caters characteristics more profound within the human psyche than most others that can ever be described or expressed by an individual. One must completely engage their inner standers of compassion to aid another in moments of weakness or hopelessness. The merciful services rendered in absolute trust and self-sacrifice depicts the sheer intent for selflessness.
Sit comfortably and take a few slow, deep breaths. Settle your awareness in your heart. Now ask yourself this difficult question: What is wrong with me? Although we spend much of our lives disguising and suppressing the answers to this question, this is your opportunity to access it. You carry negative self-judgments because youâve accepted the opinions of others as legitimate. This is the time to challenge their validity. To help begin the process, look at the following li
DO YOU HAVE an "assertion hero/ine" - i.e. someone you regard as exceptionally adept at asserting her or his needs, feelings, opinions, and boundaries? Would others name *you* as a world-class asserter? The American Management Association once defined "assertion" as communicating in a way that others can hear (understand and accept, vs. agree with) you. How does that compare with your definition? Popular alte atives to assertion are aggression ("I put my needs and worth above yours") and submission ("I rank my needs and dignity below yours").

Bob Pike, author of "The Fun Minute Manager" , explains that bosses need to lighten up and that they should strive to create an office culture that is fun and enjoyable. He adds that bringing fun into the workplace reduces employee turnover, increases creativity and innovation, makes employees more productive, and it’s good for the bottom line. A fun work environment is one in which regular activities are scheduled that are designed to uplift people’s spirits and remind them of their value to their boss and to the organization as a whole.
So on my family's property there is this pine tree. It is called a Puzzle-bark Pine, although I don't think that is the official scientific name. The name derives from the way the bark forms on the trunk of the tree. Over time, as the pine tree grows, the bark begins to look like a puzzle. There are lines outlining chunks of bark, so the tree literally looks like a puzzle that has been carefully put together. This tree is majestic. It towers so high that I can't see the top w
Lucid dreaming is one method of solving difficult problems you have during the waking hours. Since your mind isn't focusing on other tasks as you sleep, like sensory input, it allows it to be far more creative. If you've ever forgotten a name, a date or even something important you wanted to tell someone and simply decided to quit stressing and allow it to simply come to you, you'll understand how lucid dreaming works. You relax your thoughts and the solutions find you rather than the other way around. Scientists, artists and novelists often find important information in lucid dreams.

Why understanding each others values can help resolve conflicts. Assuming that you have taken your time to identify your values, it's very important to become clear about the hierarchy they are in as well. Why is that? Because we can share values with the people we surround ourselves with, but have completely different ways of living them depending on what is most important to us. To show an example; Lets say that you and your new-found romantic partner shares these top values; Love, Health, Adventure, Fun and Wealth. Your hierarchy might look like this: 1. Wealth

The truth of the matter is that I myself or Dherbs.Com has never healed anybody. This is the gospel truth! I have only healed myself and no one else. I don't have the power to heal anyone other than myself. No one can heal another person. No one! To do so would violate Divine law and order. Only God and the human body can heal. To say someone else or some product healed or cured you of a disease is to give your power away to something or someone outside of yourself. Always re

There must be a higher love/Without it life is wasted time.” Those are the opening words to one of my favorite Steve Winwood songs. What could a higher love mean in your life — in the life of your clients? Often, during a speaking engagement, I include a potent and important word that has people flinch — “Love.” They try to manage their flinching by adjusting their seats so that their neighbor or I won’t notice. But, however subtle the movement, there it is. I’m not sure wha
No discussion on persuasion and influence can begin without a few words about Aristotle's famous dialectic on Persuasion. In his argument, Aristotle explores what he calls the three levels of persuasion: logos, pathos, and ethos. In logos, we use logic and reasoning to persuade others to see ...
Surround yourself with supportive energy and remove yourself from draining people! You do not need to get unfocused and confused by getting involved in other people's dramas and beliefs about life. People around you will most certainty be scared of you when you begin to radiate the powerful being that you are, and they will try to pull you down, but there is no need for you to let them. In fact, you cannot help them if you dip into the negativity with them.
I am always fascinated by what people say about others. Inevitably, what people say about others says mountains about them. I remember one student of mine who loved to complain about his wife's communication ability. He loved to tell the class, "She's got an attitude. She never makes sense. She ...

Hypnosis hypnotherapy is gaining more popularity in its effectiveness for helping one deal with several bad habits. Itâs widely becoming accepted as a way for one to increase their physical and mental well-being without the need for dangerous drugs, surgery, maintenance expenses, and many other things that conventional methods often involve. All it takes for hypnosis hypnotherapy to work for you is a few sessions with a hypnotist with a problem you want to address. As some
Telekinesis is also known as psychokinesis or (PK), which is the moving of objects using just your mind with no other physical contact involved. This is probably the rarest ability because very few have been able to demonstrate such ability and skeptics pretty much don’t believe in it at all. ...
I used to sell real estate limited partnerships. I had no idea what I was doing. The first thing I did when I got the job was walked up to the number one sales guy in the office and said, “Watch my tracks.” Then I went home figuring I had set up the game. The next day I discovered that he, being there for two years, had all the good leads and leads were seldom coming in anymore. I needed to create a game and I was a greenhorn. Not wanting to get hurt too badly, I began calling therapists. I figured they couldn’t be too nasty to me, and they weren’t. I didn’t sell to any of them either.
Kids and adults omit or distort the truth to avoid expected pain. The pain may come from within or from other people. From this view, we liars are *scared,* not bad or immoral! We're still responsible for our behavior. Think of the last time you needed to lie to someone. What discomfort were you avoiding? Now think of the last time you feel someone was dishonest with you. What do you think s/he was avoiding? Premise - all adults and kids avoid being completely honest at times because we feel *unsafe* disclosing the truth.
Doctors and researchers use hypnosis for everything from helping people lose weight, quit smoking and overcome fears to developing ESP capabilities and healing incurable diseases. Studies done in parapsychology labs show that PSI scores are higher when the subject is in a state of psychological inadequacy according to Dr. Jan Ehrenwald. He named the state the “minus function”. It is a state where the conscious mind relaxes or doesn’t function and allows the subconscious to work. Subjects achieve the state when asleep or under hypnosis.
Tao Te Ching: Verse 76 A man is born gentle and weak. At his death he is hard and stiff. Green plants are tender and filled with sap. At their death they are withered and dry. Therefore the stiff and unbending is the way of death. The gentle and yielding is the way of life. Thus an army without flexibility never wins a battle. A tree that is unbending is easily broken. The hard and strong will fall. The soft and weak will overcome. What is Lao Tzu asking us to consider in Verse 76? It seems he is asking us to be flexible
It's said by some Atlanta astrologers that Margaret Mitchell was an astrologer before she was a writer...and the book that brought "Hollywood to Atlanta" and fame to it's author had a very surprising beginning.
Before we begin to discuss this powerful technique to attain self realization, we need to understand what is keeping us from self realization. We have to realize what we are constantly doing that separates us more and more from our own experience of oneness.
Have you been taught to believe the myth that some human emotions are "positive" and others "negative"? If someone asked you to name "negative" emotions, which ones come to mind? Terror? Disgust? Rage? Jealousy? Envy? Shame? Guilt? EVERY EMOTION IS USEFUL! Try the idea that every one of your emotions (involuntary neural-hormonal-muscular reactions) exists for a natural reason or purpose. If you agree, then it becomes useful to (a) name each specific emotion in important situations, and identify (b) why it exist now, and (c) what any emotion means to you and other people.
Why do some people hate to swim and others love it? Why do some people like broad-shouldered, solid physiques and others are drawn to willowy frames? Why do some people explode with anger when others would pout and withdraw? Why do some people become leaders and others are content to follow? Why do some people always get colds and others never? Why does one person want an explanation for everything and another follows his gut with no questions asked? Why does one eat like a h

“Remember first that everything U think, say & do is a reflection of what you've decided about yourself” - Neale Donald Walsch The above quote was a tweet on Twitter that I saw the other day. Neale Donald Walsch (author of the Conversations with God book series) is one of my most favorite authors. This quote caused me to reflect on much of what I have written about in other articles here on HubPages. The quote speaks to me of walking what we talk, meaning what we say, living an honorable, genuine reflection of who we believe We Truly Are.
"What more could have been said?" I wondered, left with a feeling of content, after reading Joyce Garity's essay "Is Sex All That Matters?" Able to identify with her on most of her viewpoints of the world in which we live in today, I felt some of the weight being lifted from off my shoulders; relieved that I'm not the only human in this world looking upon magazine and TV ads, with half-naked models posing as sex exploits, as a brainwashing on people's minds.nnWe are influence
Here I will relate my first big spiritual awakening and experience of oneness. I was in college in Vermont, having a bad day. After classes and meetings with teachers, I went back to my dorm room and sat down to meditate. When I sat down, I just surrendered. Not that I knew what surrender was but looking back on it, that was what I did. I didn’t practice a meditation technique; I just accepted all of the insanity that had accumulated that day and gave up, not holding on to anything, not figuring anything out.
Rose's soul was crying out to God, "Is there a man in the world for me?" And the answer she received was a resounding "No!" "Ah, but there is one. Love him and lead him to Me. Then we will see if there is a man in the world for you." And so bega Rose's quest for her soul mate.
A scientific view of what could be the afterlife.nnOne of the disadvantages our human race has, is, that no one really knows what will happen to us after we die. This is the main factor why we live in this troublesome world where ignorance, wars and famine are widespread.nnOther civilizations on distant planets may have the knowledge of what the afterlife has to offer. Therefore, they do not require any machines to survive their tranquil life span and so they do not need to s
Accepting the things that happen to you in your life with grace and wisdom is a worthy goal. While we get into challenging situations often which test both grace and wisdom, the goal is to act and react gracefully as much as possible. It strengthens our character to see through to the essence of situations and react to the essence rather than to all the circumstances that lead up to and after it. Remember what’s important. Here’s an example: I was exasperated with my older brother who has high functioning autism and called my mother to vent about it.
Life is like a Movie Have you ever had an experience in your life, when you thought for sure you were in a movie? Doesn’t it seem like it at times? Wouldn’t it be great if you knew for sure what was coming next? Doesn’t it seem at times that some of the people in your life appear all too familiar? Have you reached that stage yet, when so many people start to look alike to you. They seem to be so familiar, you wonder… “don’t I already know them, even though you know you don’t?

It is through this expression that one comes to knows fully the divinity and fullness of the expressed being that they are. nnBut many do not recognize, are not aware of, or do not honor their own divinity for they feel that it is something separate from themselves that can only be achieved by certain selected individuals in history . In his bestselling book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People", Stephen R. Covey lists the seven habits that people need to adopt in order to succeed. These seven habits are the following: • Habit 1: Be Proactive • Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind • Habit 3: Put First Things First • Habit 4: Think Win/win • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood • Habit 6: Synergize • Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw The first habit, which states that you should be proactive, lays the foundation for the other six habits.
"To the observer, the plant is caught in Autumn's deathlike grip. Leaves and fruit wither and fall, the stalk bends or breaks. But beneth these decaying remains lies the promise, the seed, the bridge from cycle to cycle. It can wait, slumbering peacefully at the winter's breast." The Lunar Cycles ~ Philip Levine
Can you name a learned skill you depend on more tha "communicating" to manage your daily life? If you say "thinking," I propose that's "internal communication." If this is the interpersonal skill you rely on most to fill your daily needs, where did you learn to do it? Your parents and teachers, your friends, hero/ines, television and movie characters? Who taught *them*? I've studied and taught communication basics and skills for over 40 years. My observation is, our parents, teachers, and society were never trained to communicate *effectively," so we weren't either.
Do you know how to quiet that voice in your head and stop its constant chatter. Are you aware that voice is not you, but your thoughts, some call it ego, masquerading as you. As humans, we seem to travel a wacky backwards path to learning life's lessons. Take, for instance, learning how to live in the present moment - the only moment there truly is. Most of us have to go backwards and forwards to learn how to get right back to where we are - the here and now. We try to live in the past, or we try to quickly get to the future. The million-dollar question is why do we do that?
Although difficult to definitively measure the number of people doing yoga these days, it is estimated by the North American Studio Alliance that one out of every seven people in North America practiced yoga in 2010. The question remains, however, of how many people have a devotional, steady, regular practice, abhyasa, that is, a daily practice of yoga, which may or may not include pranayama and meditation.
Can you define a "paradox" to an average 12-year-old? Try saying your definition out loud, and compare it to this: "A *paradox* is something that inherently negates itself." Paradoxes exist because many things in the world have different levels of meaning, depending on the context. A simple example is - if you're (1) walking to the rear of a moving train or plane, you're also (2) moving forward (relative to the ground), and (3) spiralling around the sun as (4) the galaxy spins and (5) moves through space.

From my clinical training, research, and experience as a family-systems therapist since 1979, I have come to believe that normal human personalities – like yours – are composed of a group of unique, talented “subselves” or “parts (discrete brain regions). This “inner family” of subselves acts like an athletic team or orchestra – with or without an effective Coach or Director – your true Self. This is not a new idea.
It's about self realization, and to come to the realization that before we can 'have' anything, we must feel it inside. Because everything is from and through you and me, we can't give what we don't realize we have. I say realize, because the world is create from within, with the power of our minds, and when the heart and mind is congruent, or in alignment; magic happens. If there is only mind and no heart, we can forget about true happiness. It's about awareness. Awareness about our thoughts and feelings, and awareness of the awareness behind them. Who is the thinker?
"The source of all problems is the mind. Thoughts arise, you identify with your thoughts and that defines your experience. So many thoughts arise without you even knowing it. So many worries and troubles constantly arising and repeating and although you are not conscious of them, you are identified with them. In 2005 I lost my partner in a tragic car accident about 4 miles from our home. We had just moved into our beautiful new home one week earlier. Though I have experienced many difficulties in my life, this was by far the most traumatic and unexpected event to occur. I began intensive research over the next year trying to gain some answers and ways connect with him. During this time I began seeing 11:11 everywhere, so much so that it wasn't just coincidence. Above the ground no one can see the momentous rebirth taking place or hear the whisper of new life.” The Lunar Cycle Report, Phillip Levine M.A. The Faintest of Lights begins in Darkness
Definition... A subliminal message by definition is, a signal or message designed to pass below the normal limits of ones perception. For example it might be inaudible to the conscious mind (but audible to the subconscious mind) or might be an image transmitted very briefly and unperceived on a conscious level yet perceived on a subconscious level. Subliminal messages are messages in the form of written and spoken words and images or pictures. Subliminal comes from the Latin word "sub" meaning under and "limen" which means threshold. I donât like my job. Itâs a struggle to pay my bills. Iâve been having health issues. Concern for my child keeps me up at night. Iâm at the center of some really malicious gossip. Are You Tired of Being Taken for Granted? “Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth.”-Mark Twain It happens every single day and whether we like it or not, we cannot control it. I recently asked a Chabad rabbi if he believed in conscious creation - combining thought and feeling to manifest our dreams and desires - and if he found this principle within the teachings of Kabbalah. "Of course," he replied. "Despite all the conversations today about The Law of Attraction (like attracts like) and secret manifestation processes, Kabbalists have known these things for ages." Then he added, "But most of these other people teaching these principles leave out one really important aspect - the real secret." "The need for action?" I asked.
Have you noticed that some people struggle through life while others seem to effortlessly advance. Have you noticed or wondered why some have to work very hard for little; while others seem to achieve so much with seemingly little effort. I am not talking about people who lie or cheat or get things, but good people who seem happy and relaxed while achieving mush with no to little struggle on their part. We see it many times in great athletes. They soar through the air, hit a golf ball, or move beautifully with almost no effort, no forced struggle.

We are living in a time of tremendous changes. Never before in recorded history has there been so much turmoil on a global level. The size of it is in part due to the immense population, as well as to media coverage that allows every little ripple to be felt by more people than ever before.
Do you have a vision board? A place where you put up pictures and words that best represent your dreams and goals that you would like to attract into your life? The idea behind the vision board is to get you THERE. To put yourself into your ideal life and actually FEEL what it's like to be there. Your mind truly doesn't know the difference between actuality and feeling. And the way the law of attraction works is to manifest everything you want in your life by feeling as though you already have it. This is where the vision board can be so helpful.
How do you cope with a world filled with foreclosures, job losses, natural disasters, and social changes? A famous line from the movie “The Karate Kid” says it all: “Balance is key.” Here are ten ways to maintain your sense of balance in a chaotic world. 1) Breathe! When we are stressed we tend to hold our breath. Pay attention to your breathing. Take a moment now to first fill your belly with air and allow it to expand and then fill your chest. Exhale the air from your belly first and then from your chest. Take several more deeps breaths.

Sometimes we are on a roll in our lives where everything feels like it's going really well and flowing effortlessly. And then we add something new - something that is out of the norm from our every day life. We stretch a little bit out of our comfort zone and expect things to continue flowing. And sometimes they do. But sometimes we come across obstacles where we didn't expect them to be. Sometimes we even come across road blocks that seem to be right in the way of reaching our dreams.
There are not only several different levels of Samadhi, but also different ways to achieve Samadhi. Samadhi is a state of consciousness described as a state of spiritual ecstasy in which the consciousness leaves the body. There are several different levels of Samadhis and within them, even more grades. You might be in a low level of Samdhi called Savikalpa Samadhi or one of the highest Nirvikalpa Samadhi. In savikalpa samadhi, there are also levels. At the Nirvikalpa samadhi level, the person is in a trance for as long as 21 days.

Yesterday I treated myself to a couple of TED talks. For those who do not know what a TED talk is let me briefly explain. TED stands for Technology Entertainment and Design. Essentially TED talks are a series of lectures each of which lasts only 18 minutes, on subjects reflecting the name TED. It has expanded to other topics since its inception in 1984, and has had speakers from all over the world who are innovators in their field. A quick search on YouTube on TED Talks, and you are there.
Self realization is the realization of the Self, or Atman. The Self can be related to the experience of impersonal being, or the sense that you are pure consciousness, or that you are silence itself or awareness itself. Self realization is also the freedom from the sense of being a personal “me.” You transcend your ego identity and realize that you always were and always will be consciousness itself.

The most common question clients have when they come for a reading is "Tell me about my love life. - Will I have a happy love life?" Since I believe we create our own happiness I will not declare, "You will be happy" or say, "You will not be happy." However, as I look over their hands I can help a client understand his or her opportunities for happiness in their relationships. First I observe their whole hand, front - the palm, and back - the nail side of the hand, to note wh
One emotion and state of mind that most people feel is the most difficult to deal with is the sense of not having any clarity about anything. We feel powerless, clueless and frustrated by not knowing what we want, why things are as they are, what to do, which way to go and we can place ourselves in a very negative space by obsessing or feeling guilt over not knowing. Thinking that we should know, that everybody else seem to have a grand plan for their lives while we don't even know what to have for dinner.

To get you a little more focused in on this concept, let's take a look at a few synonyms: honesty, honor, reliability, uprightness. Integrity is consistently, not perfectly, adhering to a code of moral values. Integrity can help you over all; help you in your relationships and how you feel about yourself. This is a major factor in achieving success in all areas of life. But let's get into what integrity is in a little more detail.
Somewhere someone is feeling empty and or lonely. The thought of feeling empty is not only a scary thought but when I think about what feeling empty feels like it can be a bit overwhelming. It is most often that when people feel a sense of emptiness or loneliness’ they get a sense of pause, a sudden sense of idleness so to speak. They can’t really make a move that seems worthwhile because they are most likely feeling worthless.

What Is In Your Aura? Believe it or not, your Aura, also called your Electro-Magnetic Field and your Bio-Energy Field, has various bands of consciousness that provide information about you. Your Aura field gives out vibrations and frequencies that other individuals “pick-up”. If you are really passionate about spiritual awakening then spiritual discipline is most important. For spiritual awakening to happen there must be that build up of energy and there must be that in-your-face awareness of yourself. You see, the moment your go for that beer, that glass of wine, that bag of junk food, that sexual release you escape your experience and you lose that build up of energy that was there inside you. The escape feels good. It feels like a relief, but then afterwards, that Shakti is gone and you are left feeling empty and depressed.
Guardian angels have long been watching over us. Since time began, and in every culture, angels have been with us in one form or another. Representations of the angelic realms tend to come to us at times of personal, spiritual awakening. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that records of angelic interventions are found in almost all the systems of religious belief from Christianity and Judaism to Islam. Both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible contain plenty of angel stor
It’s important to know the break-down regarding why the words “Zealous” and “Zen” were chosen as the topic for this article. It might be best to explain the definitions of both to see how they “fit” in this author’s perspective. “Zealous” means to be actively interested or enthusiastic about some pursuit or topic. “Zen” is the practice of experiencing wisdom in the attainment of enlightenment. It is not based so much on theoretical knowledge as it is on direct self-realization that comes through meditation and the “dharma” practice.

I was watching Oprah last night, and she had Nadya Suleman as a guest. She had octuplets a couple of years ago and, as you might imagine, was feeling extremely overwhelmed and worried about how she was going to continue to care for her family. In this show, Oprah talked about how our society is addicted to judging others. Nadya has been put through the wringer in the press and judged very harshly by the public. And while her situation is extreme - we can all relate to her in some way. We have all had days when we just felt like we couldn't do it anymore.
In the Conclusion to 'Walden', Thoreau writes, "If a man loses pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured, or far away." Aquarians are eclectic and imaginative thinkers ~ sometimes erratic, sometimes brilliant and always stubborn. Yes, Aquarians are thinkers who know much about the world, but knowing "everything" often becomes an obstacle to their own happiness. As Einstein said, "Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

Though mou ing the many losses (broken bonds) across our years is a natural (instinctive) reflex, it can be slowed or blocked. Incomplete or "complicated" grief can promote serious mental, emotional, physical, and relationship problems. Our feelgood, warp-speed society ("Don't Worry - Be Happy!") doesn't teach us how and why to grieve well or encourage us to do so. One result is that incomplete grief is often mis-diagnosed and medicated as "depression." Another is that average lay and many human-service professionals don't know how to assess for unfinished mou ing.
Why is there the perception that it takes a long time – and a long, painful process – to heal emotional and physical issues? The truth is, it is not necessary. Everyone has the ability to participate consciously and proactively in his/her own healing process. How does it work? By getting in ...
"If you practice being present in meditation, you will find even beyond the thinking that there is this reflexive urge to separate yourself from this moment. It is almost like two magnets that repel each other with all of their strength. This is the ego. You could even define the ego as the action of separation from this moment. Because if you are fully present in this moment, there is no ego. There is no sense of "me." There is still awareness but all inclusive awareness. There is nothing separate from it. You can experience this at any time.
"If you try and still the mind, it will be the mind trying to still the mind. Rather become aware of the mind. Become aware of the flow of thoughts. Not to define the thought or relate to the thought. But to impersonally be aware of the thought arising and dissapperearing without any attachment or aversion to it. In witnessing the thoughts, they will become more subtle. First the thoughts will become impersonal. You will experience visions and dreamlike states that have nothing to do with you or your personal life. At this stage of witnessing you are free
While most Americans consider Yoga as a form of exercise to increase flexibility and stamina, the yogis use it as a spiritual technique to become one with the universe. Yoga is not just a series of breathing techniques, strange body movements and mantras but takes on a deeper level for those ...
Our language brims with words and phrases about the compelling power of the Moon in our emotional lives. How about being ~ “moonstruck?” When a person wanders around in a dreamy sad listless state, we might say they are “mooning” about someone or something. (Of course, “mooning” someone is something else entirely).
Yoga Nidra is deep sleep. Many people mistakenly believe it's twilight sleep, that stage between awake and dreaming, but it's even deeper than that. It goes beyond the dreaming stage and into a state of conscious deep sleep. While that sounds like an oxymoron, it's not. It's the third of the four levels of consciousness where there are no images in the mind. Mental images live in the domain of a waking state, the first level or the dreaming state, the second level.
You do not need to feel overwhelmed by stress, fear, fatigue, or anxiety. Use these simple mind over mood tips to feel better and calmer.nnStaying In the PresentnnA mind over mood strategy that can be very effective is to stay in the present. This means to focus on things that are going on in your immediate environment. Often times worries and stress are a direct result of focusing on things that have happened in the past or being concerned with things in the future. Staying
This one word of one syllable, this little four-letter word causes so much trouble and prompts so many people to ask questions of its nature and its hold on us. Most questions about fear have to do with getting rid of it, overcoming it, fighting it, and last but not least, being free of it.

In the fall season of reflection and connection, we gather to celebrate the abundance in our lives. As we look across the proverbial table at the harvest we’ve collected – our relationships, love, family, joy, and friends, it becomes remarkably clear that we are a sum of many parts and that each of these parts are interconnected and interact with each person in our lives.
The book “Angry All the Time: An Emergency Guide to Anger Control” is a best-selling classic that has helped tens of thousands of people overcome their problems with anger. The author of the book, Ron Potter-Efron, Ph.D., is a clinical psychotherapist in private practice with a special focus on anger management. In addition to "Angry All The Time", he’s also the author of "Working Anger: Preventing and Resolving Conflict on the Job "and "Stop the Anger Now".
In my profession, I’m often asked what tarot cards are and how people “read” them. Simply put: tarot cards are a tool -- nothing more, nothing less. They happen to be a really good tool if you consistently use them the same way. These days you have “tarot” cards that are not “tarot” at all. In fact, even the classic tarot decks include added cards and pictures that came after card-reading ever began. So if you’re relying on magical cards to tell you the truth, forget it. Paper, print and pictures came long after divination was born.
First of all, put yourself in a meditative state of mind. Meditation is, like Michael Beckwith puts it so wonderfully; "to pay undistractable attention to Reality" It's so true; and so we begin with that. Close your eyes. Get yourself into a vibration of unconditional love, get still, with the intention to listen deeply to whatever comes when asking the following questions. Put yourself in a relaxed state of mind; an attentive stillness. Pay attention to your breathing, and when (slowly) ask yourself these questions and listen deeply.
Just because music says it’s suitable for hypnotherapy or hypnosis sessions doesn’t mean it actually is. It’s not enough to have some gentle new-age music going in the background and hope that your client is going to relax and go into a nice, healing trance. That melody that was so good to listen to while you were doing chores around the house or just sitting and relaxing can be quite distracting when you’re trying to achieve deep alpha or theta states. As a hypnotherapist, you need music that follows some very specific principles:
So much has been said about gratitude lately that I almost didn’t write this article. Then, I stopped and listened to my internal dialogue. Did I really hear an inner voice saying that my readers might 'get tired' of the message? As I let that voice go, it was abundantly clear that the energy of Gratitude clearly wants to be expressed. nnOne of the greatest gifts of Gratitude is the receptivity and openness that it creates in our hearts. Have you ever noticed a greater
Awareness is where manifesting begins—not with the awareness of what you want, but rather with the awareness of where you are in the moment, what you have right now. Once you have the awareness that you are complete in the now, then you are ready to step into the process of manifestation. If your awareness is on the things you don’t have, you will create more lack, so it is critical that you gain clarity on what’s in your mind. It is also critical that you look at the things you desire to manifest as if you already have them, or as if you know that you are already in process of creating them.
First, as I've stated before, you need to spend the time reflecting on your strengths: innate talents, abilities, gifts, and desires. After a long period of reflecting, writing and trial and error, you will find what you came here to this life to do.
A great number of self-improvement gurus speak of wealth. If you turn on the television, surf the internet, go to the book store and look at the best sellers list, a great number focus on financial well-being. There are those who speak of other aspects of self-improvement; however, the majority promote that which will fill the seats: monetary gain. Even the great Napoleon Hill, of Think and Grow Rich fame, spoke of financial wealth even though he invoked religious and spiritual themes.
Have you ever felt like jumping off a cliff? I understand this sounds drastic but what I mean is: Do you ever have that feeling that you just want to break free, like you want to overcome your fears and just jump off that cliff into unknown water? Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a life not of your own making and you want to spread your beautiful wings and show the world who you truly are? If any of these thoughts or feelings sound familiar to you, it means that you are ready!! You are READY to step out of your shell and overcome your fears.
Let's face it. New Year's Resolutions are bogus. Who invented these instruments of torture anyway? Was it some evil Cardinal in the Catholic Church who used the practice of writing down the faults we wish to change as a method of selling more indulgences to the peasants? Okay, now I'm making crazy talk. Of course there's nothing sinister about self-examination and setting up intentions to release unwanted baggage in our lives. But why do so many people feel cranky and depressed at the very thought of this tradition?
EACH YEAR, hundreds of "revolutionary" self-help books, articles, groups, and programs appear on a wide range of human stressors. Publishers and producers keep chu ing them out because (1) the old ones don't work for long, and (2) the needy, hopeful public keeps the cash registers ringing. A classic example is the ceaseless hawking of new "miracle" diets and weight-loss books, programs, videos, and articles. Some of these may actually promote losing unwanted pounds for awhile - but the flab often comes back or increases.
We all have stories that we tell about ourselves based on the way we perceive our lives. Some of those stories may be in which we make ourselves victims and some are one in which we allow ourselves to be inspiring to ourselves and others. Here’s an example: 1) I’m 50 years old and I’m young for my age. I got laid off my job and got the opportunity to relax, exercise, take a good hard look at my life and what I wanted and reinvent myself. The government sends me money (unemployment checks) while I’m doing this.
We have now seen that Jyotish is one of the limbs (Angas) of Rik Veda. In fact, Jyotish is considered the most important of all the six Vedangas. Just as Vedanta, the most important of the six Upangas, contains within its fold all the knowledge and principles enumerated in the other five Upangas, so Jyotish forms both the synopsis as well as the culmination of the other five Vedangas.

Paying attention to our intuition from the beginning can save us from a lot of heartache. I love this quote by Oprah Winfrey: "In little whispers... your intuition is telling you something. Did you not pay attention? The universe will speak to you a little louder - with a little tap on the shoulder. Then you get hit in the head by a "brick". Still not paying attention? A brick falls on you. Still not hearing it? Then you experience a full-blown earthquake".
To be a light worker is to become a liberated human being, a real player and server in the life process. It is only in and through individuals who are real players—the ones who have realised what a privilege it is—that God (or the energy and intelligence that started the creative process) can actually do anything. If you put yourself in God's position, you will see that you wouldn't be able to create the future in and through a selfish, self-centered person who experiences inca ation as a burden.
It is interesting to see how much of the so called New Age thoughts are a more fashionable continuation of deeply ingrained religious beliefs. And as religions have been the expression of incomplete insight into the nature of our own self, of God and of the world, so are the modern New Age thoughts oftentimes an expression of ignorance, and of incomplete knowledge of reality. It still looks as if people are more interested in mysterious believes than in real knowledge! The problem with real knowledge however is that it is hardly available.r
If you feel afraid, anxious, or alone during difficult times, I invite you to make friends with the Divine. A close relationship with God helps you feel calmer, safer, and more optimistic. If you are seeking enlightenment, it is important to understand that there is a huge difference between the new age spiritual teachers that are popular today and the enlightened beings who have actually attained full enlightenment. In the past, the majority of enlightened beings came from the East, places like India, China, Korea and Japan. Historically, teachings on spiritual enlightenment probably started out in India. From there it branched into Hinduism, Buddhism and then traveled further east turning from Buddhism, to Zen.
Who The Hell Do You Think You Are? No Really... ...who do you think you are? I ask because before we can talk about our self image, it would behoove us to know just what a self image is. My research over the years taught me that the problem even with the phrase self image, is that we use this phrase to mean three completely different things that get lumped into 'self images'. The problem is that only one of these three things are true self images. Those three processes are: Our relationship to the environment.r
I work with many people of various ages, backgrounds, belief systems and cultures. The one prominent common denominator in those who are able to make a shift into wellness is an understanding of personal responsibility. Individuals who can embrace and recognize their behavioral responsibilities in life to themselves and those around them are a step ahead in the awareness that can facilitate healing.
I remember the first time I saw him. I had just turned 18 and was at my first, yes my first, boy girl party. He was tall dark and very handsome and he oozed confidence. I was shy and a bit of a wallflower, but he wandered over and asked me my name. From that day on we would be inseparable. My family approved, as he was charming and attractive and he said all of the right things. I remember my grandmother once saying how he seemed to not take his eyes off of me, a good thing I thought at the time.

“Never let another shatter your dreams”. This is what we are told while, normally, very young perhaps as we grow into our older years as well. The concept for this statement always remains the same being that it is still 100% true! "Dreams? Oh, now I get it", I remember saying to myself several years back once I finally began having dreams of my own and to actually serve an overall purpose. As a child, I had no idea what this meant while a child and sure I was not alone on the subject. As I matured, I realized these words to be more meaningful than ever imagined.
Mindfulness meditation is really the essence of meditation and yoga. And if you practice this Zen technique given below not only in your sitting meditation but in your day-to-day life, it will help lead you into deep states of meditation and even self realization. Your natural experience of life will be one of unconditional peace and bliss. Mindfulness meditation means to allow everything to come and go while remaining resting in the present moment. So first, allow yourself to breathe. Allow the breath to move in and out as it wants without trying to control it in any way.
When one thinks of their motivation, they may think about what drives them to carry onward to maintain or complete an ultimate goal. Reaching inside yourself to actually find the motivation is not only the most crucial step, but can be complicated for some. If every challenge in life was easy, then they wouldn’t be called challenges. The “easy” button cannot be pushed or click a pair of red heels together either.
Early in 2001, while teaching the ancient wisdom teachings to my students, I explained to them that we were going to enter a period of time where in order to evolve as human beings, we were first going to go through a challenging and difficult time where it would seem as if all was lost and that the darkest nature of man would appear in many forms. I went on to explain that from the period of 2007-2014, we would see some of the worst of this lower level energy on display, as we were shifting from the last of a patriarchal age, into a new age of the divine feminine.
If an average nine year old child asked you "What is 'awareness'?" - what would you say? Are you becoming more aware as you age?

One way to manage anger is to realize that conflict is a natural part of life, and that it does not necessarily lead to fighting and negative emotions. There are ways in which to deal with conflict constructively in order to resolve disputes amicably, instead of allowing the situation to get out of hand.
Conscious/Subconsciousr The Conscious Mind... Our conscious mind is the one that we are perhaps more aware of. It is the one that we use to make choices, decisions and conclusions, or to put forward logical arguments and sound deductions. In order to truly succeed in life, we would be well aided by the ability to use our mind more fully. This involves engaging the subconscious mind. The Subconscious Mind... Your subconscious mind has incredible power in controlling what you experience in your life,r
"The mind functions by defining. And through definitions boundaries are created, separation is created. There is this body that is me and everything else that is not me. So you experience something the mind defines as pain in your chest and that pain is separate from you. It is something that is happening to you. It is alien to you and a threat to you and therefore something must be done about it. This is the natural process of the mind. It is how the physical body survives. Most people try and approach meditation from this mind perspective.

In today’s hectic world, a typical morning involves waking up and tending to personal needs (i.e. hygiene, breakfast, etc.) and preparing to go to work. Often, in the process of the ‘everyday’ and ‘getting things done’, we neglect the things we need to energize and motivate us, whether it’s spontaneity, creativity or interaction that’s more meaningful than discussing this week’s reports with co-workers.
The following is my Guides' message for today. The Original Wound At the very core there is a wound, a perceived wound from the original “sin,” our supposed “departure” from Source, from the moment we chose to leave the Divine Nest in search of our Self. We mistakenly perceive this as abandonment, as the Divine turning a cold back to us, because we have forgotten that it was our own choice, our will to leave and to pursue this very long, drawn out search for Truth, to Know
Take a look at your life right now. Look at where you live, who you spend time with, how you support yourself financially, your level of stress, your state of mind, your health – all of it. For the past several years I had been hot on the lookout for my elusive life purpose. I didn’t know how to do that.
"When we were born we were sensitive to everything. We were vulnerable to everything. In that sense we lived an enlightened life. But as we began to feel things like hurt, sadness, rejection, we began to block that sensitivity. We began to contract and separate ourselves from our experience in order to survive.
It’s becoming more and more apparent, the older I get. Everywhere I look, there seems to be pain. There is physical, emotional and spiritual pain. All pain is definitely inevitable. E-G-O is Edging God Out Last but not least is the idea of ego. I learned what ego stands for in a book by Dr. Wayne Dyer. When we live completely out of our ego, we are living blindly, in denial about the reflection of God that we were created to be from the very beginning. Our ego is centered on what we have been taught from the examples of others as we were growing up. It has nothing at all to do with our spirit or our heart.
A very important topic, presented in Q&A form: Have the category of souls known as nitya-baddha always been in the material hemisphere, hence the term "ete ally conditioned"? According to the philosophy of some Gaudiya Vaisnava groups this is the case. They say that the nitya-baddhas have never ever been in the spiritual world, thus the term "ete ally conditioned" and that the nitya-siddhas have never left Krishna's association.
Bylakuppe is a Tibetan refugee settlement about 29km to the west of Mysore in southern India. When I was living in India I went into the hills as a retreat from the intense heat for holiday. I took a bus from the station by Gandhi Square in Mysore, where I was living at the time. The bus pulled out of the station at 1:45pm arriving in Bylakuppe about 4:30pm. My bus ticket cost me 35 rupees, less than a single dollar. I was dropped off at a stop where the scene had suddenly changed from Indian to Tibetan.
Why should we write down our goals and dreams on paper? Here's 22 reasons why: 1. An important side effect of yoga training is the development of psychic abilities. The term development is appropriate, as everyone has these abilities. Every culture has had healers, shamans and mystics. Some people seem to be born with this ability but most honed the skill through training with an elder. The cultures vary but the results of that training do not. Psychic powers are available to everyone. Just like playing the piano, some people tend to have a gift for it, show amazing abilities at an early age and are savants in music. Others follow the natural course of piano lessons.
In “Letting Go of Anger”, co-authors Ron Potter-Effron and Patricia Potter-Effron explain that anger serves two purposes: it tells you that something is wrong, and it gives you the energy to do something about it. However, anger can’t tell you how to handle a situation. That’s where anger styles come in. Your anger style is the habitual, predictable way in which you handle situations in which you are or could become angry.

STARTING IN INFANCY, all wholistically-healthy people form emotional and perhaps spiritual attachments (bonds) to tangible and invisible things. Life on Earth decrees that these bonds will be broken by chance or choice, causing losses. We may start grieving before an foreseen occurs, or be plunged unexpectedly into major mou ing without warning. Losses may occur gradually - like the loss of youth - or suddenly, like a stroke or car crash. We lose all kinds of prized things, not just people or pets (relationships).

"For the purpose of meditation, you can break it down to two states. The first state is identification with thinking. You believe you are the thinker of your thoughts and the subject of your thinking. You experience this moment through the interpretation of the mind. The second state is that which precedes the first. It is what is here behind the thinking. You feel yourself existing not as a person but as sensation. Resting as consciousness itself, resting as pure being. You can approach meditation by recognizing these two states.

Ah, rejection! No one likes it, but everyone has felt it at one time or another. Rejection comes in many forms: romantic relationships, contests, writer’s group critiques, friendships, job interviews or credit applications. Some people feel depressed about it, while others grow angry or ...
Today, 6.3 millio American adults aged 18-54 have some type of specific fear. Although the most common fears tend to be public speaking, death, spiders, darkness, heights, social situations, flying, open spaces, thunder and lightening, and confined spaces—in that order, the current economy has brought a host of additional fears to the forefront of American's minds. These include the loss of a job, a home and of retirement income or invested money.
Living things (like you) communicate instinctively and intentionally to reduce current discomforts ("needs"). The most poweful of six universal communication needs is to gain and keep *respect*. How would you define "respect" to an average 10-year old? As you know, there are two sources of our sense of respect (worthiness and value): (a) ourselves ("self respect"), and (b) other people. Our vital senses of "self-esteem" and "self love" are powerfully shaped by self and social respect. We unconsciously notice different "respect zones" about ourselves and each other - e.g.
Going vegetarian in college did not exactly bring me the surge in health and vitality that I’d expected. Far from it: my sinuses clogged, thoughts grew fuzzy, skin broke out, and periodically I developed the worst stomach pain ever! We’re talking writhing on the floor, Sigou ey-Weaver-in-Alien ...
“MAN, KNOW THYSELF” is a recurring theme throughout many religious and spiritual teachings, for without this understanding we remain reactive and uncertain, adrift in an overwhelming sea of experiences. By understanding our motivational drives we are able to actively shape our unique identity and express it with confidence, to have clarity of vision and a definite sense of purpose that we find fulfilling. What is it that defines our Underlying Drives and Motivations?r
There’s often discussion of whether an aura is real. In order to answer this question you must turn to science and the belief that humans emit energy from their bodies. That’s all an aura is, the visual appearance of the energy that flows from a person. You not only can learn to read another’s aura, you also can control drains to your own by understanding its existence and knowing how to control it. Once you learn to read the auras correctly, you’ll be able to find additional information about the people around you and new acquaintances.
Living and Enjoying “NOW” The essence of Zen teachings is taking our awareness deeply into “Now”. Current and past sages, saints, gurus and teachers have always tried to get us to understand that to eliminate pain and suffering from our lives we have to shift our consciousness from the past and the future to the now. Their teachings were designed to heighten our consciousness. To get us out of our unconscious false egos and to live consciously in the present… the only time there actually is… Now. Zen master Rinza, in order to shift his student’s minds and thoughts of past

This therapy is an intriguing modality, with multi levels of application. Many people are now aware of Bowen, and the fast and highly effective results this bodywork can produce. It is a non-invasive treatment that can be done through clothes. Comprising of small gentle moves on soft tissue, it is safe to use on anyone, from newbo s to the aged, immobile and hospitalised. The muscles and tendons are gently manoeuvred cross-fibre, and this stimulates energy flow, restoring the body’s own resources to heal itself.
Holding on to excess energy, whether you dwell on your own and/or what you continually pick up from others, is a guaranteed recipe for feeling stressed out, run-down and even angry or resentful. To put it simply: It’s just not healthy. The human body was made to conduct energy, not trap it in, and this is something that empaths especially need to understand. Being able to feel for others isn’t the same thing as becoming their energetic historian…you can, and should, let it go.
In discussing self-importance, it’s important to realize that this topic is not about ego or arrogance. It’s about informing those with a low self-image that they are important.
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a healing method or a healing tool that combines modern psychology with Chinese acupuncture. It is used to decrease, even eliminate, emotional stress and is also very successful for eliminating limited beliefs or fears that block us from moving into abundance and into the life we truly want to live. It is also used in some cases involving physical pains or discomforts.
The attitude one has when paying for services rendered is a subject that few people acknowledge or even consider, yet the impact on the recipient goes far beyond simply writing a check or depositing money into someone's account. I had the good fortune of working with a client who demonstrated the most impressive attitude and professionalism in regard to payment. I was so struck by his approach and attitude that I was compelled to write about it. And although it may seem like
I am excited to introduce you to an amazing woman today. Marilyn Tam has such a strong spirit, and even the toughest challenges couldn’t stop her from fulfilling her life purpose: to make a positive difference in the world. To say that Marilyn’s childhood was far from ideal is an understatement. She was born in Hong Kong to parents that needed to be reminded to pick her up from the hospital after she was born. She was the second daughter born in her family, and because of that, she wasn’t seen as important.

Have you ever noticed that "good" things often come out of "bad" things? Events or situations we see as disasters in our life can actually change our life in profound and wonderful ways.nnI believe layoffs offer many individuals a sacred opportunity to re-examine their lives. For many of us, something as serious as a layoff is required before we will pay attention to thoughts and feelings that have been plaguing us for months, years, or even decades. Thoughts like: What am I
For many years, I wanted to be a psychologist because the human mind fascinates me. Please keep in mind that I am NOT a professional and the article here is only from what I have read and become interested in. There is no way I would ever diagnose or advise anyone on any malady, condition or symptoms they may have for any kind of issue. With that said, I have come across a word that isn’t used much in day-to-day conversation and was therefore, something I needed to look up and chose to learn about.
If you want to become enlightened, there are certain things that are pretty much necessary to follow in order for you to really move deep into the enlightened state. Regardless of your spiritual path or beliefs, if you follow these 5 steps to become enlightened, you will be well on your way. The first step to become enlightened is shaktipat. Also knows as Kundalini Shakti, Deeksha or Grace, shaktipat is the spiritual energy that awakens you to enlightenment.
In the History Channel's Da Vinci and the Code, the code has nothing to do with Dan Brown's work but refers instead to Da Vinci's work ethic, curiosity, and, most importantly, the discipline needed to keep working and moving forward, even through tumultuous times--in 15th century Italy life was little valued, especially if you were of the working class. Today, most know of Da Vinci as a painter, but he was much more than that. Da Vinci was a mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician, and writer.
The first meditation tip is to not eat or drink anything besides water for at least an hour and a half prior to meditation. The reason for this is for one, the body will be busy digesting your food making it much harder for it to relax. Second, because meditation is awakening the subtle energy. (also known as Kundalini Shakti or Chi) And for this to happen, you want to keep your physical body as light and clear as possible.
Excerpt taken from Erica's forthcoming book Zesty Womanhood at 40 and Beyond: Second Act, New Role “The most fundamental principle of love is knowing who you really are, at the purest level of soul, beneath the encumbrances of human restrictions and limitations, in particular, not being allowed to indulge natural human emotions.” Before we can learn to love, we must understand what love is to us. What is this thing that connects us in the Universe?
A mind map is a whole-brain method for generating and organizing ideas. Basically, you place an image at the center of a piece of paper which represents the subject matter of the mind map. Then you write down a key word that describes your topic. Next, you proceed to draw branches leading out from the central issue which represent the main associations that come from thinking of said issue.
Have you ever met someone who seems overly absorbed in their spiritual lives? Even to the point of ignoring other aspects of their lives, such as personal relationships or their career? Perhaps they recite spiritual philosophies they’ve read (repeatedly!), or discuss at length their prowess in ego management but it looks more like they’re wearing a huge warning label on their forehead, reading “This is how NOT to be spiritual!”.
Before we can disce what psychic mediums are, it is binding for us to know what a medium is. In spiritualism, we define Medium as a human instrument that is bestowed with special senses that permits the spirit to acknowledge the medium with messages it wants to give. Mediumship has served to provide answers of numerous questions deeming to the spirit world and will continue to do so. The object of exercising mediumship varies with situation and demand of the medium. Usually p
We’ve all had moments where nothing seems to be going our way. Your day just isn’t working out the way you had hoped it would. In fact, when you really start to think about it, you realize that it’s not just that your day or week or year that isn’t working out: your life isn’t working out. And in realizing this, you begin to spiral downward into the deepest despair. You are quickly entering a place where nothing ever works, no one is ever on your side, you are never good enough, no one understands you, things never fall into place, and disaster strikes at any given moment.
Maya means illusion. Mahamaya is devoid of illusion. Illusion pertaining to material objects and Mahamaya is correlated to wisdom. Human prowess is limited and hence he does not have an all round vision of life. His limited vision visualizes a limited world and thus he deludedly thinks it to be the be all and end all of life. It is like a frog in the well who is oblivious of the gigantic world outside the well. If only the frog comes out of the well, will it realize that his
I believe that there is something called fate, and then there is destiny. Fate is something that we decided before we were born. We decided to learn things in this particular lifetime that may not be to our physical being’s liking—perhaps having abusive parents or some sort of addiction. For you, now, from a human only perspective, you might feel victimized or unfortunate, whatever it might be, while your inner being, the Spirit that is the real you, chose the learning experiences to grow because of them and become more, to expand.

As a master coach on the Tao Te Ching I have been asked many times to explain in simple language the Tao Te Ching Eastern teachings of "Letting Go" Letting go is the one of the key mysteries to manuvering our way through life. It is however one of the hardest for our those of us raised in the western world to understand and accept This resistance is because it is counterintuitive to everything modern society tells us. We are taught that striving, forcing, winning and struggling to reach our goal is necessary to achieve anything worthwhile.
WHEN WE LOOK OUTSIDE FOR HEROES When we look outside for heroes, the real impulse that is coming from Self is a reaching inside ourselves for mastery. But mastery takes work and concentration and practice, practice, practice. I have been called ‘smart’ when what I am, is very willing to work hard to acquire a skill and knowledge. And I keep at it until I achieve mastery. How much easier it is to look outside for someone else to ‘do’ it for us! But that means that our own in

There was a great wise man who lived in a tiny village in Tibet. He was constantly sought out for his wisdom by the villagers. He was very kind and patient. His neighbors had a very beautiful unmarried daughter. She was in love with the butcher's son but saw him in secret as she knew her parents wouldn't approve. One day her parents noticed that she was expecting a child. They flew into a rage as they saw this as a disgrace on their family. They demanded to know who the father was but she refused to tell them as she wanted to protect the boy she loved from her parent's wrath.
What self realization is will always remain a mystery because the mind cannot describe what is beyond the mind. But the teachings to learn how to attain self realization are quite simple and straight forward. Follow these steps and you will also enjoy deep states of meditation and may even attain self realization. First and foremost, if you want to attain self realization it is most important to sit with a fully enlightened meditation master or guru. If you sit with such a Guru, you should feel their presence, their Shakti. (spiritual energy)
Conversational hypnosis is best described as a series of manipulations and carefully choreographed strategies designed to change a personâs beliefs or habits by conversing with them. Back in the Middle Ages alchemists sought to transform base metal into gold. They searched for an elusive substance, the philosopher’s stone, which would bring about this conversion, known as alchemy. But to initiates of the ancient mystery schools, alchemy was primarily an allegory for the real work of spiritual and mental alchemy.

It has been observed that suggestions, planted in the subconscious, become memories, and eventually tend to exte alize in the body. From this, it has been deduced that the sub-conscious mind is the builder of the body and is the creative factor in man. It has also been proven that certain types of thought produce certain kinds of results. This shows that the subjective mind takes our suggestions and tends to act upon them, no matter what the suggestion may be. While the Insti
Do you feel worthless? Do you feel like you’re a mistake? Don’t Believe It! You are special – You are uniquely and beautifully made! I remember as a child, my mother told me in the heat of an argument that she was sorry I was born. When I was in my twenties, she told me the story how she tried to abort me 3 times. These statements surely had a negative affect on me well into my 30s. Thank God, he has healed me from the stings of these words. Today, I look at these happening
A member of the Self Improvement Zone asked me the other day: "How is it that we can know what is good for us, yet we don'tseem to be able to make a practice out of anything?I go from one author, book, concept, idea to another, thinkingone day I will find the answer, and I will no longer have tolook. I have enough books to open a bookstore. Is there any one thing you can recommend? Or are we mostly alldoing the same thing?? Searching... with no one right answer."
Ponder The Impossible: This Is Your Creative Journey This is your creative journey that you alone discover. Go ahead and ponder the impossible. Give yourself the liberty to take ownership of your natural gifts! What if what seems to be impossible can actually be very possible? Are you willing to find out just how creative you really are? Would you dare to imagine something bold, unique and unbelievable and then know that it can come true? Are you brave enough to risk the task
I have decided to write a four-part article based on acronyms that have helped me in my journey. In the height of the “self-help” phase of my life, I learned a few acronyms that have become major transitional learning tools that have benefited me to a fuller awareness of who I was really meant to be in the “grandest version of the greatest visio I have ever held about myself” like Neale Donald Walsch says (he is the author of the "Conversations with God” books). The four main topics I want to discuss are: Fear, Anger, Denial and Ego.
People were surprised when Kat stood up at one of our seminars and without preamble, enthusiastically announced, “I love airports!” It was a Monday evening in early spring and we had encouraged people to come up to the front of the room and talk about what was happening in their lives. Kat is a petite, dynamic woman in her late twenties, with shoulder length aubu hair. Standing on the balls of her feet and leaning toward the group, she grinned as she said, “Recently I flew back from the West Coast and I had a layover in Chicago where they’d had a sudden snow storm.
THE HANDWRITING IS ON THE WALL! Have you ever gone into a home or office and you could feel the atmosphere? Sometimes, when there is conflict in the place, you will say… “wow”, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, it is so heavy and dense!” Well truer words were never spoken so much! Why? Because everything is energy… thoughts, ideas, words, emotions. When the energy is off and conflicted your body can, indeed, “feel it”. This negative energy gets embedded in everything, the walls, the ceilings, the furnishings and becomes the consciousness of the place.
