Stuckness

By, TB Wright

At one time or another we all have said that we were "stuck." Let's examine this declaration, because saying those words is exactly what it is: a stand for being stuck. So what does it mean to be stuck? It usually means that there's somewhere we want to be at, either goal completion, or some internal state of satisfaction we want to feel, and, we are not now there. Let's use an example, that of shifting avocations. I have shifted my careers several times, each time when I felt I wasn't doing what I was passionately wanting to do. That's when what I was doing felt as if that wasn't it; therefore, I declared that I was stuck. But was I? I was certainly feeling that way. Yet at one time the career I was shifting from had been it. What had changed, was my point of view. From my new position of growth, I felt I had to do something else. Truth is, I did have to do something else, but not because of any Universal request, but because of my own desires. Mostly because I had taken the stand that I was stuck!
Okay, there I was, feeling stuck because I didn't feel like I was where I wanted to be, doing what I really wanted to be doing. But let's look at that too. If I had questioned myself at that time, I would have found out that what I really wanted to be doing was making a bigger difference, and feeling good about it, while of course supporting myself and my family with money. Fair enough. But the more powerful question to have asked myself would have been, "What can I right now be, do, or have, that would most represent the completion of my goal of shifting careers, in this moment!" Because truth be told again, it wasn't what I was doing that made the difference, but who I was being, to myself and those around me, that had always made the difference, regardless of my career. When you be all you can be in the moment, with whatever you are currently doing, then you won't feel like you're stuck anymore during transitional shifts. Your experience of the day to day tasks necessary to get the job done will be one of movement, and each day will feel like you are already making the difference you want to be making, mostly because, you will be!
Now it's not that this new career you desire won't reach more people, and make even more of a difference in their lives than what you are doing now, it just might. And it's not that transitioning to this new career isn't appropriate, only you know that. But it won't be the new career that will make the difference when you arrive there, because it's who you are being, regardless of the career, that has always made the difference. Just think about it. Once you get into your new career, what if you see something else down the road that you would like to eventually transition into? Does that mean you should give up giving your all to your current avocation, and only concentrate on yet another new goal? No way! Give all you have to the all you have right now, and that would be this one present moment, always. And the irony is, once you make that shift into being who you really want to be, the "in the moment" internal work, the manifestations of your new career will come so fast it will make your head spin. And then do you know what you'll say then? Wow! This is happening so fast! I have to slow this down in order to keep up!
And then, I am always asked the question: "How do I do that?" We always move from where we are at, the fastest, by embracing what we feel, think, be, do, and have right now, with enthusiastic appreciation. Say to yourself, "It's okay to feel this way. It's okay to feel stuck." Because, in truth, it is okay to feel any way you want, while at the same time taking the actions you need to take in order to complete your goal. If you read "Goals And The Value Of Certainty And Faith" that article sufficiently explains the process necessary for successful goal completion, the "How do I do that?" both while you are on the path to completion, and at your completion point itself.
I have had the blessing of being a writer who has written much inspired work, some almost twenty-five years ago, and once felt completely stuck that a few of those old stories hadn't been published yet. I had to let that one go. The Universe was way too busy fulfilling my request to be of service in so many other ways, to allow me what would have been too big a head, had I gotten that work published right away, and easily. It will come, but when it's the most right and perfect for not only the greatest good of Source, but also for the greatest good of myself. Frustrating? I'd say so, to a human being who is not totally enlightened, and why shouldn't it be? But regardless of any in the moment feelings I may have, the point is to keep on keeping on, no matter what. If you really take The Loving Process© seriously, (found in Be BAD!) and do it every single night, that alone will open up permissions inside of you for having what you want in ways that you cannot now imagine. Source can easily imagine such infinitely wonderful things happening in and as your life though, and in fact, It already has!
