Are you living a happy and satisfied life? If your answer is a solid no, have no fear. Even if you are overly stressed, depressed, suffering low self-esteem, or stuck in a cycle of overeating or other addictive process, you can turn things around. One way to make your happy and satisfied life happen is to start taking action on your dreams. Read below and learn the steps that will guide you into a world of dreams come true.

Dream From the Heart
Your imagination is the place to begin. Imagination is the catalyst of possibility. The life you want to live can only be imagined by you, and can only be created by you. No matter how sad, uninspired, or difficult your life is right now, you can imagine living a life with higher potentials and possibilities than the one you are living right now. Dare to play with your imagination. Dare to wonder what life could be life if you were in control of making it happen.

You have the ability to paint a new life. You are the canvas, the paint and the paintbrush, and the painter of your own life. Set aside some time to reconnect with your heart's dream. What have you put on the back burner that you can bring into your painting? What are the dreams you have for yourself - not for your spouse, your family, or anyone else? What are your dreams?

If you don't like the way you feel in the life already painted, it is time to pick up the paintbrush and paint a new life. You don't need to know exactly all the details of what your new life would look like. Start somewhere. Begin and the rest will continue to unfold.

When you imagine a new life, you paint a doorway into a new a better life. Beyond that doorway you begin to generate the potential of the life you want to live. Only you can imagine what that possibility would look like, and how you would feel living that life. If you are not certain, pretend. Make something up. You get to paint an entire new life and you get to do it poorly. If it turns out not looking and feeling quite as expected, you are still holding the paintbrush and the paint. You can adjust, modify, or even paint over something not quite right.

Make a Decision
Once you have a dream, decide that you want to live this kind of happy and satisfied life. This may seem basic but many people never decide and commit fully to their dream. They simply keep "thinking" about it. Or, when the first obstacle appears and they give up. Make a commitment to yourself. Right now is not the time to worry about how to make it happen. Instead, right now you plant the seed of your dream inside of you and you commit to loving this seed until the day you can harvest the fruits of your efforts.

Honor your commitment to self. No one can let you down more than you can. Make a commitment about what you want and stand strong in your commitment. No matter how challenging, how fearful, or overwhelming it may seem, decide you are going for it! Why? For no other reason than because you want it. There are no should's, have to's, or weak choices. This is something you want for yourself and a choice you have made.

Cultivate Belief
As you stand in front of the doorway you have painted, you probably will not have much belief that you can have the dream you imagined. Belief is something that develops over time. It grows as you continue to spend time at the doorway, looking at your dream, saying hello to it, and loving it even while it is still just a possibility. Belief unfurls as you dare to take those first few steps through the doorway. Each day, as you acknowledge your dream, as you get excited by your dream, as you develop a committed relationship with your dream, and as you decide you are worthy of having what you want, your belief deepens.

It's okay to have fear as you step through the doorway. Fear often means you are heading in the right direction. The fear signals that this is something you want. Fear pops up because you don't yet know how to get what you want, and you don't want to risk failing. You don't want to be disappointed. Instead of letting fear stop you, choose to see it as a sign that you really do want to live your dream life.

Create a Vision of Success
Great achievers have a habit. They "see" themselves living the life of their dreams. They imagine already having what they want. Teach yourself to visualize yourself succeeding. See the light at the end of the tunnel before even starting. Create an inner dialog of success and allow yourself to already feel the feelings of achievement.

Imagine the difference between these two scenarios. The first person, Gail, walks around with a clear vision of herself having already achieved her goals. Multiple times each day, she pulls up her dream and spends time with the physical excitement of imagining a successful outcome. Every day she speaks loving words to herself, and leads herself with strength, kindness, and compassion. She plays with her dream, offering it a relationship of love. When obstacles occur, she may fall flat, but at some point she remembers her vision.

A second person, Ben, hasn't yet developed he ability to hold strong to a vision. The first obstacle comes along and knocks him flat on the ground. Ben stays there, accepting his defeat. His dream is buried as decides the failure is proof he can't have what he wants. His inner dialog is self-critical. He feels frustration, anger, discouragement, disgust and the hopelessness of "What's the point?" Both Gail and Ben are going to run into obstacles. Both will meet with disappointment, fear, failure and other obstacles. There is no avoiding them. Who is more likely to achieve their dreams, Gail or Ben?

Take Action
Decide where you are at now, and what seems like the right place to begin. Action means starting at the right place at the right time. Action steps may mean first spending time imagining what is wanted, and what a joyful life would look like. Action steps may require writing down your dream, putting your dream into picture form, spending time each day visualizing and feeling your dream, or taking the steps to break down an overwhelming change into smaller, manageable steps. It might take weeks or even months of doing these steps before you are ready to move on to the next level of action. There is no step that is too small. Take the step that feels right for right now and you are already living your dream.

Enjoy the Process!
Each person has within them individual ideas of what is exciting. An exciting idea comes from deep within, from center. It has no logical basis. It is an idea of creation. The life you are wanting to live is important because you want it. Remember no one is making you do this. This is your dream for yourself. Other people may support you, and then again, they may not. Remember, it is not their dream and not their obligation to make it happen for you. Your responsibility to yourself and to your life is to imagine your dream, to grow belief in your dream, and to summon excitement during the process of making your dream a reality. Creating your dream will require much effort, emotionally, spiritually and physically, to get what is waned. Fall in love with the journey itself - not just the outcome. Fall in love with yourself for having a dream.
