Because we are human and each of us is built with an ego, it's safe to say that we are all going to experience moments of fear, worry, doubt, guilt, anxiety, loneliness, and sadness. However, there is a way to recognize when we are allowing that part of us to wield power. BECOMING AWARE of when we are feeling "out of whack" can help us initiate the change it takes to bring ourselves back to a grounded state. It is in this "zero point state," that our energy body can forgive, love, and be at it's most peaceful state. And it's in that grounded state of being that allows us to be truly connected to spirit. When we are connected to spirit, we are connected to everything and everyone. It is when we are in this most peaceful, connected state that others want to be present with us. Who doesn't like being around someone whose content and peaceful? When we resonate at a peaceful state, it triggers something in others that reminds them of what it's like to also be in a peaceful state. Resonating at "zero point" can mean the difference between creating war and creating peace. This is HUGE!

What is the "zero point state?" Albert Einstein was one of the people who helped discover that zero point energy is the lowest possible energy that a system may have, and it is the energy of it's ground state. He found that all energy systems have a residual energy and that due to the uncertainty of physical systems, when something is at it's most basic energy level, it still has energy left in it. Think of a spring bouncing back from its most stretched out state. There is no point where the spring has no energy left in it, it is always in a state of moving as it is springing, but that point where it is most stretched out is the "zero point," the point where it is springing back. Just as the spring has energy in it and is constantly flexing and bending, we too are constantly flexing and bending. As we go into a state of hyper anxiety, think of yourself as the spring shooting off with lots of energy. But eventually, we hit a state where we almost stop. We don't stop entirely; instead, we hit that "zero point state" where we REALIZE that what goes up must come down. It's where we realize that we are being pulled by our energy that's already in motion. The quicker we can realize this is what's happening, the faster we can bounce back from our heavy experiences. Think of tying yourself to a bungee cord. When you drop, the longer the rope is, the farther you fall, the longer the experience is. The point where you hit the bottom, you never actually stop. That is the "zero point." It's the point where you realize you are going to bounce back.

People are beginning to use "zero point" in metaphysical terms because it's that point where for just a moment, you are in a peaceful state of knowing that all things will spring back. When you allow yourself to be in a "zero point state," you give yourself a moment to connect with a quiet part of yourself. This is why yogis say that meditation is so key. It is in this place of quiet that you will discover that you are spirit. You are always connected. You are never "dead" or "dying." You are a constant ball of energy moving here and there. In being human and having these experiences, we get to feel the pull and tug of ego and spirit. It's totally natural and human. There is no reason to beat yourself up for feeling the pull of the ego. Just know that eventually, you will hit the "zero point" where you will get a glimpse of perspective and "see the light" so to speak.

Why do the work of meditation? Well, if you allow yourself the true gift of being in a meditative state daily, you will begin to see the difference between when you are in a state of ego (the spring shooting off) and when you are in a "zero point state." The process is different for everyone, and the recognition of these two states may take some people a day (it might be instantaneous), or it could take others years. It really depends on your level of awareness.

Awareness is key during this process.

It's only when you are in the state of observer that you can see the different states of You.

The neat thing is, when you recognize your spirit, you will be overjoyed and want to learn how to be in that state more and more.

So how do you get there?

You must learn to feel the difference in the energy levels.... think of your energy body as an oscillator... when your energy starts to feel worried, how does it feel in your body? Think of the last time you were crying or really angry about something and could feel it in your body. What did it feel like? When you feel those moments of panic and worry, know that you are resonating outside of the "zero point energy field." You are not in a grounded state in those moments. It's impossible to feel forgiveness, love or peace outside of the state of zero point. When you are outside of that state, and resonating in your ego, then you will experience anger instead of forgiveness, lust instead of love, and anxiety instead of peace. The difference is so very clear; it is like night and day. And if you get really good at this, you can start to recognize when you are in one state or the other. Then, and here's the really beautiful part... you get to CHOOSE!

That's right, we get to choose whether we stay in that state of resonance or not because we have free will.

Our emotions and ego are in place for a reason. They can serve us if we practice seeing them for what they are, simply indicators that our spirit is not being utilized. When you are at a "zero point," your energy body recognizes that the ego is a necessary component for telling you that something is not quite right in your environment or with you. The awesome power that we hold as a human being is in recognizing that we do have a choice to stay in the ego, or release and let go of that state and ground ourselves back to a state of spirit.

Getting back to why mediation is a key component... When we sit down to meditate, we are practicing quieting the anxiety for a moment and grounding ourselves to our most basic, peaceful state. The restorative feature of meditation is that it brings you back to a "zero point" state. As you meditate more and more, you will begin to realize that you are an energetic being that can resonate at different frequencies and that you can choose when to bring yourself back to a calm and peaceful frequency. Freaking out is human, but choosing peace is spirit.

Just know that meditation isn't the only place where we can experience "zero point." It happens when we allow ourselves to be at peace at any time. This can happen when you go to take a shower, and you allow your mind to be clear and all you do is exist in the moment with the warm water and feel content there. It can happen as you walk along the beach and you feel the sand under your feet and all thoughts are cleared from your mind. It even happens when you are with other people, laughing and smiling, and it seems like your daily cares disappear for those moments. Begin to recognize when you are in "zero point," and you will start a wave of infectious peace that just may help to make the world a better place!
