Life is indeed a puzzle. I'm going to be rambling here, so get ready.
Puzzles have a lot of pieces, fragments that don't seem to be related to each other upon opening the box. You can see some similarities, giving you clues to the eventual assembly of the puzzle.
Just like puzzle pieces, seemingly random events occur in our lives. But they also seem to come in sets or groupings, where the theme of these occurences appear to be related to each other.
I can think back of Junior High when I was the fat piano playing pudgy boy, being heckled and picked on by various bullies. I wasn't doing so hot in my classes either and had trouble with my teachers. Friends were hard to come by and my parents weren't so happy with me either. It was generally a sad and depressing time for me.
Later in High School, my talent in music was discovered and I became a desired commodity in the band and choir, not to mention the various theatrical productions that were put on during the year. Everything else in my life followed suit. I had goods friends and my classes went well. I remember my parents faces in the audience, beaming with pride about "their boy".
Being brought up Southern Baptist, I was taught that everything was "God's will". I can remember thinking that if God is so great, why did he find it to OK to torture in me in my early years, only to grant me popularity in later years? It just didn't make any sense to me.
After college, I was introduced to the idea that we, as fragments of God (or the Universe), were individual pieces of that powerful force. And as fragments of the power, we have the same power which is contained in the whole. We, as individuals, control and create our lives.
After studying the Law of Attraction and watching the Movie "The Secret", I was able to look back at the puzzle pieces in my life experiences and see how they were related to one another, and more importantly "why".
It was ME, I was the author of my life. I did it to myself.
