Perhaps you’ll agree that when something is bothering you, it prevents you from being at peace. In truth, the more we try to figure out “what-to-do” or “what-not-to-do” actually keeps the situation from changing. Take a moment and look at this consideration more carefully. Whatever we are focused on, is what we are creating for ourselves. So the more we dislike someone or something, is causing us to actually attract more of those unwanted situations into our life. As perplexed and almost backwards as this appears, when we are thinking negatively or from a limited point of view, we are actually sustaining unwelcome situations by insisting on wanting to change them.

The more we complain or try to fix something the more that situation bothers us. Why? Because when we are complaining or acting in other negative manners, is actually causing us to focus on the problem instead of having a peaceful resolution.

Whenever we want to change someone or something (that we dislike), we are actually creating a gridlock. In deeming any situation as being wrong is actually coming from a deeper insecurity within us. Remember “wanting to change what we perceive as wrong or bad” is also showing us that we want to be right. In truth our beliefs about what we perceive as wrong or bad are mostly about fear. If we feel we have to defend or deny something, it may be because we have strongly attached a consequence to the outcome. If we weren’t holding onto fear in the first place, we could easily shift our perception and move forward. In order for us to move forward and begin to experience having a peaceful resolution, or experience having something better, requires that we change our focus from negative to positive. Another way of saying this is, “Positive attracts positive, and negative attracts negative,” which is the Law of Attraction. To say it in a different way, “We simply can’t want and have at the same time.” By wanting to change a situation that we dislike or perceive as out of harmony, also results in our resisting. Resistance prevents us from moving forward. Being stuck also prevents us from taking positive action. The more we resist, the more the situation will persist. In a way we are looking to avoid taking responsibility for particular situations and also what we’ve contributed to those realities. If we decide to continue acting as we have been, chances are the situation will remain. Perhaps you have already noticed this for yourself.

In order for things to stop bothering us, we have to move into higher energy and look at things optimistically. This requires our finding something about the situation that can be viewed from a positive point of view. Looking at a situation positively automatically causes us to shift what we are holding in mind. Focusing on having a positive outcome is a very different perspective than wanting to change what currently exists. Choosing to have a positive outcome is willing for the situation to move forward. Deciding to be positive will move you directly into being in higher energies such as courageousness, acceptance and peace. When we choose to be in higher energies, also allows for the situation and all parties involved, to begin to be in alignment or mutuality. Positive thinking is about taking appropriate action and letting go of being stuck.

If something or someone continues to bother us, it is an opportunity for us to examine our thinking. It is also an opportunity for us to decide to “let it go.” So instead of continuing to focus on “What’s wrong?!” We have to consciously begin to see “What’s right!” Each time we identify that we have the ability to make better choices, helps us begin to choose more wisely. Each time we are willing to let go of wanting to change a person or situation, or wanting to be right, immediately allows for us to experience something better. Positive choices always create positive outcomes. Try this for yourself. Change your mind and your whole life changes.
