What is truth?
The highest worldly truth is one where no living being is hurt by us through the medium of our mind, speech or actions. This is the greatest of all principles. It is not the real truth though, but is definitely the ultimate 'worldly truth'!

Hence, we must decide in our mind that we want to completely live by this absolute worldly truth. And the one who follows the worldly truth eventually gets lead to the divine truth too.

What is the divine truth?
The Self i.e. the Pure Soul’ is the Absolute real truth. It is the divine truth, the ultimate truth, the permanent truth!!

Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says, “(In this world), that which is actually there, cannot be seen. And that which is not there, is seen. This is called illusory attachment. Any kind of misery that we see in the worldly life; the cause of all of it is this illusory attachment.”

Since we do not know who we really are, we believe ourself to be the name that we have been given. In reality we are not that, yet we insist that ‘I am John’ because everyone tells us so. This is a wrong belief that has had a very powerful psychological effect on us. This effect is so much so ingrained within us, that we actually believe ourself to be the name given to us.

“I am John” is the first wrong belief, from which a series of other wrong beliefs follow, “I am a Catholic, I am a lawyer, I am rich, I am fair-skinned, I am forty-five years old, I am his Uncle, I am a taxpayer, etc.”

We say ‘I am rich’. But this truth is relative; it is with respect to money that we are rich today. Tomorrow, when the money leaves, ‘I am rich’ will no more remain the truth. It means this is not permanent truth because we are not the owner of money. Similarly, we are not the owner of the body, we are not the owner of mind, speech, etc., these are all temporary. Therefore, until we realize who we really are (Self-Realization), everything we believe to be truth is eventually only a wrong belief.

All throughout our life and over millions of our lives, we have only reinforced the wrong beliefs, making them stronger and stronger, and have developed deep illusory attachment towards them. Because we do not possess the knowledge of really ‘Who am I’, we continue to wander aimlessly in this world, suffering miseries, life after life.

Even if we come to know that our belief regarding Self is wrong, we do not know how to get rid of it.
Many different ways to attain Self-Realization have been described in the Vedic scriptures such as achieving correct conduct, renunciation / loss of interest in worldly things, an intense desire to know one’s true Self, etc. All of these require lot of time and effort.

Moreover, due to ignorance about the real Self, when one undertakes these spiritual practices but has not attained the realization of his Real Self, the sense of spiritual accomplishment at the subtle level constantly enhances the feelings of pride and superiority inside him, which makes him stumble and creates enormous obstacles on his spiritual path of progress. But even as he continues to stumble and face obstacles, he keeps believing, “I am something great and have achieved something higher than others”, failing to know how to get rid of it.

This is where the importance of Gnani, the Enlightened One, is known. It is only Gnani Purush who can change the direction of our ‘vision’. When the ‘I’ is moved out of its incorrect place (John) and is placed in its real place (Pure Soul), we begin to see ourself as Soul rather than John. But without Divine Grace, it is not possible to see this divine truth!!

‘Akram Vignan’ is a stepless spiritual path that has come up especially for today’s age!!
The Self-Realization which has not happened through our efforts of countless lifetimes, Gnani gives it to us, here, in just one hour, through the scientific process called Gnan Vidhi.

During this process, Gnani cuts the ropes of ignorance of our Self that has kept us bound for infinite lives, and thus sets us free. It does not require any effort on our part; all that we have to do is surrender ourselves in the feet of Gnani and experience the sense of freedom of enjoying the bliss of the Self that He graces us with.

Just like turning on the flashlight instantly does away with pitch darkness in the room, likewise, Gnani dispels the darkness of ignorance with the light of Knowledge of Self (Gnan). During the GnanVidhi, Gnani destroys our particular deluding karmas sitting over the Soul and breaks through layers of ignorance to establish us as the Soul. This is when the reality takes hold within us. And after attaining this divine truth, we never stumble. Once the Soul is awakened, the awareness never leaves, on the contrary it only keeps increasing.

Meeting a Gnani is very rare indeed!! And if there is a possibility, we must seize the opportunity and acquire Self- Realization from Him. Thousands have received the grace of Gnani through Akram Vignan and thousands continue to do so even now. It is free of cost, but is the priciest and most invaluable, if one understands its value.

The purpose of human life is to come to the real answer of ‘Who am I?’
There is much more to life than just living and passing time in this world. There should be a higher purpose in life, which is to realize the Self.

We really are a Pure Soul, but we can say, ‘I am Pure Soul’ only after Gnani breaks our deep ingrained wrong belief of ‘I am John’ and graces us with the knowledge of the Self. Once we experience the knowledge of the real ‘I’, divine truth has been achieved. In this day and age, one can go on reading the scriptures to the point of exhaustion and still not attain Self-Realization, but this is the total essence of all scriptures, that we receive with just Gnani’s grace!!! Let’s go for it....

Author's Bio:

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
