Beliefs are one of THE most important and most misunderstood. aspects of your Internal Map of Reality. You probably think you already know what you believe. There are beliefs hidden in the subconscious part of your "critical mind" that can wreak havoc in your life if they go unchecked.
We want to discover how we create our thinking, feelings, and behaviors. what and whom you attract into your life, and what and whom you're attracted to. These things, collectively, create pretty much everything that happens in your life. The main point here is that whatever is happening in your life, inside and out, you are generating it. It isn't just happening. If you can figure out HOW you are doing it, you can change it.
Most people and even some therapy models are concerned with WHY we do things, why we get certain results. Maybe “why” isn't the best question. What if we examine HOW you're creating what is happening in your life. If you're stressed, how do you DO “being stressed”? If you can't make enough money, how do you do “not making money”? If you're frustrated, how do you do “being frustrated”? Whatever is happening, you're doing it. You may not be aware of how, but there's an internal process you're doing that creates it. Again, I am not saying that you are doing it consciously or intentionally, but, it is emerging from something you are doing. This means you have to go inside and look at what you're doing. You have to observe the way you process the input you receive. The first step on the road to Victorious Living is learning to observe what's going on inside your head and notice how you're using the different parts of your Internal Map of Reality to create your experience of life.
Beliefs play a huge role in creating what you experience in your life. It is important that you develop the capacity to observe, watch the affect in real time. When you begin to actually see how your beliefs create what you experience in your life, you will be hard pressed to continue that same pattern of thinking. You'll begin to intentionally choose based on what you want to create in your life.
Watching your thinking processes isn't easy at first because it is so unfamiliar to us. We are used to flying on auto-pilot and without even the slightest acknowledgement of the choices at our disposal. I'm suggesting that we examine and exercise those choices.
The old adage "practice makes perfect" holds true here. If you want to achieve a level of personal mastery, you're gonna have to practice, practice and then practice some more. Then you will be able to function from your "Power Zone".
Til next time… blessings
