OUR INHERENT NATURE
We are all teachers and students and we are all leaders and followers. Why do I say this? It is the nature of existence. We have to engage in life-long learning if we want our success to continue. So we have to humble ourselves and get other people, be they younger or older than us to help us learn new things. There are times, however when we should take the lead. As a leader we are in a better position to influence future outcomes. We may not be the official leader, but nevertheless we can take the lead and in effect we have some or all of the power of leadership.

TAKING THE LEAD
We may not be the actual leader of a group such as in the work place but we should take the lead and lead by example. When there is a problem or a new project, be the one to take the lead with useful suggestions. When there is a problem, be the one to make useful suggestions. Take the lead by being the one to step forward and keep everyone around you moving in a positive direction. The world needs people who are willing to get things going. Take the lead, take the initiative and be a leader. Someone has to do it, so why shouldn’t it be you.

YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
Within you is the power, but will you use it? You have what it takes to be a leader, a winner and what it takes to be successful. Will you do it or will you just sit back and watch others do it.

You have knowledge, you have skills, you have the ability to learn and to adapt. Yes you have what it takes and you have what it takes. Be a leader in your field and see how that acts as a powerhouse for more of your personal development.

THE ART OF LEADERSHIP
How do leaders lead? They lead not only with words and ideas. They also lead by example. The most effective form of leadership is the one that is inspired by the desire to make a positive contribution.

Ironically, the best leaders are those who do not have the primary aim of leadership. It does not always come from the position but from a willingness to get things done, from effective participation. The best leaders are those who are shining examples. So step up and take responsibility.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
People who take responsibility stand out from the crowd. If you take this approach, you become an effective, can do, results-oriented person. In effect, you are a leader and an achiever. Taking responsibility propels you towards leadership. When you take responsibility for your life, your career, your surroundings, then you become the leader of your future. Taking charge is taking a leadership position.
