Remember that old story about the tortoise and the hare?
I want you to be the tortoise.
The tortoise, why?
Because if you work slowly and deliberately you will make less mistakes and produce a higher quality product.
The hare races through life, never taking time to worry about the quality of his work.
He rushes through projects, gets them done, quite often with just barely adequate quality, usually with a lot of mistakes that someone else (the tortoise) has to fix.
The hare finishes a project and immediately moves on to the next thing on the list, without ever once slowing down to consider if he did everything he was supposed to on the last project.
The hare works so fast that they burn out quickly and are forced to move on to other work, other careers, other relationships.
Yes, that’s right, relationships.
The hare runs through relationships and people the same way that they run through their work.
With little or no care about how their actions affect others in their life.
The hare doesn’t care if his actions hurt someone, he’s too busy with the next thing in his life to worry about that.
The hare runs so fast that his life is over before he even knew it had begun.
The tortoise, on the other hand....
He, well, he lives a long time.
Why?
SImple, because the tortoise takes the time to consider how his actions will affect his life and the lives of others.
The tortoise works slowly and steadily towards his goals.
The tortoise takes time to worry about quality.
The tortoise fixes his own mistakes.
The tortoise lives a long time because the tortoise lives deliberately and does not rush around willy nilly chasing the next big thing.
So, slow down, be a tortoise.

Mike

I have been a teacher for 15 years. Through my career I’ve seen a lot of presentations, many good, many of them bad. During the last few years, I have developed an interest in helping people improve their presentations. I started out focusing on just helping people with the “mechanics” of creating presentations, mainly helping them improve the quality of their Powerpoint slides.
As time went on I discovered that many people had more serious problems with their presentations than the quality of their slides. People were also having issues with their speaking abilities. Some were just having issues with the structure of their presentations, some were having trouble finding ways to make them interesting, and some were just downright scared of speaking in public.
So I started Perfect Presentation Coaching. My mission is to help people be more successful in life and presentations, and public speaking coaching is the vehicle I use to help them. A presentation is so much more than what you say, it’s how you say it, it includes the visuals, the words, the story, the audience, and most importantly, it includes the speaker. A successful presentation integrates all of those elements.
My motto: Successful Presentations. Successful Life!
I’m married and have three wonderful kids, 19, 10, and 7.
