September’s Planets

Lunar Eclipses Affecting Emotions until September 5
There are usually two lunar eclipses a year. This year there are four, two of which happened on July 7 at 15 degrees of Capricorn and August 5 at 13 degrees of Aquarius. These two lunar eclipses will be affecting people until September 5, 2009. Lunar eclipses make people more emotional. Being aware that you are more reactive than usual can sometimes help you deal with situations. This will be a good time to reassess your career and connections to the outer world, especially how you want to be seen and what career will meet your needs. It is also a great time to learn more about new technology, holistic health and astrology. Let people know you love them and find new ways of being loving.

Lots of Mental Energy until September 10
With Mercury squaring (about 90 degrees from) Mars you should have the drive and energy to work on mental tasks. This is good for students and people who have a pile of paperwork to wade through. This planetary aspect can also, however, make you too quick to take offense or say hurtful words. Take care when you speak. Also, be careful not to speed while driving.

Many Blessings until October 12
Jupiter is in direct motion from June 15 until October 12, 2009. Count your blessings and remember that what you focus on grows. Think positive thoughts. The ancients called Jupiter “The Great Benefic” because of blessings and opportunities it brings. This is the time to grab opportunities and to aspire to lofty goals. Think big. Think positively.

Mercury Retrograde Affects You until October 14
From time to time, each of the planets appears to go in backward motion across the signs of the zodiac, depending upon the relative positions of the earth and the planet. That apparent backward motion is called retrograde motion.

Whenever Mercury is retrograde, communications, contracts, machines and travel plans may go awry. For ordinary life, including communications, contracts and travel, I pay little or no attention to when Mercury is retrograde. I do, however, pay close attention to when Mercury is retrograde for important communicating, most contract signing and passport vacation traveling. I will continue to go about my daily life and do what needs to be done, but I will not send any manuscripts to new publishers under a Mercury retrograde period.

Under Mercury retrograde, take extra care while communicating with others. Make sure that everyone understands what the plans and expectations are. Signing important contracts to buy expensive items, applying for or starting a new job, or sending a manuscript to a new publisher may come to naught, have to be redone, or be short-lived. If you travel when Mercury is retrograde, make allowances for changes in schedules and allow extra time to arrive.

Mercury also rules telephones, computers, printers and cars, so have these checked out to do everything you can to have them in good running order before Mercury goes in apparent backward motion.

Some people feel the effects of Mercury retrograde up to a week before Mercury actually goes retrograde. Many astrologers, including me, wait until Mercury is in the same degree of the zodiac, called the shadow point, as it was before it apparently went in backward motion.

Try New Ways of Doing Things until October 23
Saturn is opposite Uranus in the sky, as it was during the day of the election last year. This is one of the reasons that I thought Obama would win the election. Saturn rules the status quo, while Uranus rules new ways of doing things. Obama’s campaign heavily used the Internet and new technology. The planet that is further out from the Sun also wins over the planet that is closer to the Sun. Uranus is, of course, further out from the Sun than Saturn is. Obama represented youth and change, while McCain was older and more Saturnine. While the tides of the universe are favoring innovation, we all need to try and improve how we do things. What this means for us is that we have to try to find new ways of creating our lives. People who are not willing to change will be left behind. This is especially true when it comes to new technology, including computers.

Expect the Unexpected until December 1
Uranus remains in the last degrees of Pisces and is moving slowly. Uranus brings sudden and unexpected events and changes. The best way to deal with this energy is to be open to new and exciting developments and technologies and to try and keep up with them. Don’t be left behind. Try new things.

Solar Eclipses Affecting the Need for Change and Paying Attention to Home and Family for the Rest of 2009
There are usually two solar eclipses a year. The first one occurred January 26 at 6 degrees of Aquarius. This eclipse further indicated the need for innovation and thinking in new ways. The second solar eclipse this year occurred on July 21 at 29 degrees of Cancer. This indicates that people will have to spend more time and energy on home, family, dependency needs and security needs. These areas will be in a state of flux and will need more attention given to them. Take care of home repairs as soon as you can before they grow into larger problems. Many people will experience significant changes in their families. Devote more time to home and family to use this solar energy in a wise way.

Good for evolving spiritually through the rest of the year.
Jupiter continues its long-term conjunction (being close to the same degree and sign of the zodiac as seen from Earth) with Neptune through the rest of the year and into part of 2010. Jupiter enlarges what it touches. Neptune rules spirituality, religion, confusion and addiction. Watch for continued righteous religious feelings, where people of different beliefs will each think they are correct. This aspect can bring people closer to God, but it can also trick people into thinking that they have the only truth with a capital T. Use this aspect wisely and you can become closer to God and also more unconditionally loving. This is a great time for spiritual retreats and religious pilgrimages. Watch out for all kinds of flooding.

Help in career matters until January 13, 2010
Saturn stopped going in apparent backwards motion as seen from the earth and is going in forward motion until January 13, 2010. This is good news for people who have been stuck in their careers—not having one they like or not feeling they were making progress. Having Saturn going in forward motion through the zodiac will help ease up career matters, if you put in the effort required.

Keep a Positive Mental Attitude from September 7 though September 30
With Mercury squaring Pluto, you may have to try extra hard to keep things in perspective and not look at them negatively. Communications may be blocked and may be easier after this period is over. Look to the future and not the past.

Guard Against Extravagance from September 8 through September 30
Although it can be a fun and social time, you may have the tendency to overindulge with food, drink or spending. Balance fun with work.

Get Rid of Clutter from 11:52 p.m. September 20 until 6:42 am September 23
While the Moon is in Scorpio is an excellent time to get rid of clutter in your homes and offices. If you don’t love it, need it or use it, get rid of it. Don’t waste your energy on things that don’t help you live the life you want.

I hope this is beneficial to you. Let me know if I can be of any other help. Dianne Lawson 785/232-2836 Cappie0113@aol.com www.DianneLawson.com
