Proper acne diet can prevent acne. Your diet is responsible for the severity and frequency of your acne. The relationship between acne occurrence and diet has been established by many researchers. They have found a link between the levels of insulin and glucose that causes changes in the skin. Glycemic index is thought to be responsible for the severity of acne. There is evidence that a protein rich diet can help treat this skin condition.

Appropriate acne diet comprises fresh fruits, whole grains like oats, muesli etc., lean protein and vegetables. A diet rich in high protein can reduce enzyme production which causes oil production level to increase. The production of oil can be restricted and thus acne can be controlled. Snacks such as wafers and chips should be avoided as it contains high amount of oil and iodine. These foods must be strictly avoided to prevent acne.
