I recently enjoyed a wonderful "break" on vacation with my family! However, I still managed to smuggle my laptop in with every intention of doing some work and creating that week's Coffee Break. So I put my assistant on standby and informed her that I would have the recording and worksheet to her in time to distribute to you.

On Sunday evening, I took out my laptop and began to see what inspired me for that week's break. As I began to write, my husband sat next to me, grimaced and shook his head in disapproval. He could not believe that I was working. After all, we were on vacation. I sat there for a minute, and before I could go any further with my coffee break notes, something clicked. That's right! I AM on vacation — a much needed time to rest and relax, not to mention spending some quality, uninterrupted time with my family.

During this time away, I had to be diligent about disconnecting. For me, that means turning off the Blackberry and resisting the urge to "return to work" before I return home.

So I simply pressed the Refresh or Reset Button.

In the end, I decided to just leave my listeners a brief message to remind them to take some time to step away from the busyness of their days, to reflect and refresh, to pause long enough to rejuvenate. When you give yourself the chance to pause, your ideas will take new shape and you'll gain more clarity and focus about your intentions. You refuel your determination and motivation.

Ask yourself: When was the last time I took a break? When did I have a real vacation, some time to myself? If it has been too long ago, schedule some time now to do so. But when you do, be sure to honor that time as a break from the normal routine. You will return refreshed and even more inspired.

Press the refresh or reset button whenever necessary. Doing so will help you maintain the momentum you need to continue your journey. It will also help you remember to live in the moment with those most important to you.
