Today we are going to talk about something most people dare not discuss; POOP!

Yep! I said it. Poop.

Although something we all do, we either joke about it or don’t discuss it at all. Bad pops are no laughing matter. Actually, they can be a sign of very bad health.

Regular bowel movements are a sign of a healthy gut. Constipation is a sign that something is wrong. Yet, many people have come to accept constipation as normal. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Countless individuals address digestive issues and constipation with over the counter pills, liquids and prescriptions without giving any thought to the root problem. Add to this, not drinking enough water, and the problem intensifies by the day.

With the SAD diet, people are consuming a lot of high (unhealthy) fats and sugars. Additionally, due to feeling sluggish, they are not exercising. It’s no wonder people are clogged up.

Common causes of constipation are:

-Dairy and meat products
-Processed foods high in fat and sugars
-Lack of high-fiber foods that a plant-based diet gives you
-Not enough water
-No exercise
-Alcohol consumption

Beware! Constipation could be putting your health at risk.

“Patients with chronic constipation may be at increased risk of developing colorectal cancer and benign neoplasms,” according to study findings unveiled October 22 at the American College of Gastroenterology’s (ACG) 77th Annual Scientific meeting in Las Vegas. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121022081228.htm

Better Bowel Movements with Plants

By switching to a plant-based diet, you increase your chances for better health, and better bowel movements… fast.

Most people notice a marked difference in the frequency and type of poop they have when they switch to a plant-based diet. Within days, you will notice your bathroom habits changing. For some, it’s a minor change. For others, a dramatic change. This is to be expected.

Research shows that those following a plant-based diet could have better digestive health and healthier bowel movements.

Plant-based diets tend to be much richer in fiber than most people are accustomed to. On the SAD – Standard American Diet, there is very little fiber causing constipation, irritable bowels, bloating and overall feeling of sluggishness.

A plant-based diet rich in greens, vegetables, fruits, beans and legumes is instrumental in more frequent and better poops.

Those who subscribe to a plant-based diet rich in whole grains, vegetables, and fruits typically pass well-formed poop more frequently. Fiber keeps the intestinal system working efficiently, allowing for better and more frequent bowel movements.

30 Second Gut Flush

To help things “move along” smoothly, I recommend the 30 Second Gut Flush, a method created by author and food intuitive, Lana Nelson.

According to Nelson, “If you’re like most people, you deal with gas, bloated belly and indigestion. It’s become such a common occurrence; most people automatically reach for the “thick pink liquid” or a little pill to get rid of the problem. Or so they think.

“The problem goes beyond the symptoms and actually is more likely caused from a backed-up gut.

“A backed-up gut can cause countless problems including a higher risk for colon cancer, skin rashes, irritability and low energy.

“That’s the bad news. The good news is, there’s a very simple solution that won’t cost you a thing other than a few seconds of time. It’s called the 30-Second Gut Flush.”

I do the 30 Second Gut Flush daily. I make it a part of my morning routine. Yoga followed by the gut flush. It’s amazing how great I feel since incorporating this simple process into my daily routine.

Don’t Get Caught with Your Pants Down

The bottom line is this; good bowel movements indicate good overall health. To not pay attention to what’s going on with your bowel movements is asking for trouble.

With a rise in so many health problems related to constipation such as colon cancer, low energy, skin irritations and more, doesn’t it make sense to do whatever you can to become regular?

Now’s the best time to take control of your health by eating a balanced, plant-based diet rich in fiber and nutrients that give you a much better quality of life.
