Like The Tree, Root Deeply In Yourself

To visualize a tree is an amazing image. It comes in so many distinctive forms and has a broad range of unique characteristics. The Cherry Blossoms, the Apple Blossoms and the Pine trees are all part of Mother Nature’s tapestry. You may simply see green leaves on branches that are intertwined by their bark in such mysterious ways. Before it takes physical form, we may think that we can know what it will look like; however, oftentimes this is not the case as it may look much different than we had imagined. It starts out just as each of us do, as divine images from an energetic realm of love, filled with hope and a heartfelt inspiration so we may share our gifts and unique beauty within the world. We too begin as a seed so very much like the tree. We grow slowly over time with loving nurturance and caring deeds. This raises the importance of Nature/Nurture themes that are with us all the time. When you know your true nature and self, you then know how to nurture your innate proclivities and value yourself.

We plant the seeds of a tree with the expectation that this tree will naturally grow from its strong, stable roots within the healthy soil of the ground. We too have strong stable roots within our system, though they are clearly transparent to the onlooker’s eye. Our roots are ours to nourish as we choose so that we can be all that we can be and stand as the tree does. It is both strong and gentle, confident and humble, elegant and simple as it continually adapts through the changing seasons of life. Each tree is granted their own time and space where they are grounded in Earth to bless us with beauty and grace. Some live many, many long years over, while some get taken by natural disasters or neglect. They have their own markings just like we have our fingerprints. Nothing at all, not even Nature cannot replicate this. It is theirs for life. We too are unique from the beginning, through our given time here on the earth plane and space. Each of our souls touches the world in similar ways that the trees do. Since none of us know just how long this will be, we need to enjoy soaking up as much sunshine and breeze as we can. We can reflect and meditate as we cherish the walk through the trees.

Being amidst the trees show us nature’s way. Each tree breathes in its own abundance and glory. We too breathe in our abundant life source, prana, chi or life energy. As Dr. David Fontana so elegantly states in his book, “Learn To Meditate: A Practical Guide to Self Discovery and Fulfillment” (p.59) “The breath has always been linked in the great traditions with spirit - the invisible, indwelling essence that symbolizes the nonmaterial nature of our true self.” This is the nonmaterial plane that teaches us to surrender to the truth of our being, the deep sense of who we are. The trees already know all that they need to surrender. They live in each moment with peaceful conviction and eternal harmony.

Though none of us holds the wondrous power of a tree, these wondrous powers can move through us as we simply allow them to be. These are flourishing energies aligned with all life so that we may move forward with our inner radiance in beneficially, rewarding ways. We cannot take hold of any power to make something happen, nor can we change its final destiny. When it is planted in its given place, that is where its life will need to blossom. Many metaphysical philosophers feel similarly. They propose that we too have chosen our circumstances, our time and place, and even our parents. It then is our personal responsibility to commit to the path that allows us an opportunity to blossom from these givens. Though chosen by us, God/Divine Spirit has allowed our life to become fully manifest. When planted in its very place by the divine energy field, it is blessed by a truth on behalf of all highest good. We can all learn from a tree. It grows without worry or doubt. It does not question that it is a tree. It knows this natural wisdom from the cycle of life. As the Buddha would agree, it knows all it needs to know just by being itself. Like The Tree, rooting deeply in yourself is the potency of creation, a mystical miracle.
