Have you ever put off taking action because of self doubt?

Have you ever thought of writing an article or creating an audio that you wanted to, but did not do it because you thought that there is nothing great/significant in what you are delivering?

Did you ever write down your monetary goal and made a list of what you wanted to do with the money and landed in one of the following situations?

1. You did not reach your monetary goal, but were able to accomplish everything written in your list.

2. You reached your monetary goal, but were not able to accomplish all/any item/s written in your list.

I have personally been there and some of my clients too! Being an entrepreneur, it can be frustrating to handle such situations and may even lead to STOP setting goals and giving up totally.

After masterminding with my clients, we have come to realize that, it is the choice of thoughts about the events and not the event as such, that can impact the growth of our business.

For the sake of example, let us say a woman named Suze wants to operate her own business. Suze just started her business after she was laid off. Suze's monetary goal was to make a profit of $1000 in the next three months. She made a list intending to pay herself $200 first, buy her husband, his favorite suit that is priced at $500 and enroll her daughter in her favorite dance program priced at $300. Suze set clear intentions and works hard and smartly to earn a profit of $1000 in the next three months. At the end of three months she may experience one of these scenarios:

Scenario-1: She makes a profit of $800 only as against her goal of $1000. She pays herself $200, buys her husband his favorite suit for $300 ( as it was on SALE) and she enrolls her daughter in her favorite Dance program.

In this scenario, she can choose to think/react in two different ways:

Choice #1: Get upset about not reaching the monetary goal of $1000, and not being thankful for being able to accomplish all the things written in her list.

Consequence: By getting upset with herself for something that is not her control, she is unable to love herself unconditionally. This shows up in the way of negative emotions that affects both her personal and business life adversely.

Choice #2: Be thankful for two things. 1.) As a beginner and without prior experience, she managed to achieve 80 percent of her monetary goal. 2) Be thankful that she was able to get what she wanted for herself and for her family, what they wanted.

Consequence: Being thankful opens window of opportunities. She is now motivated and prepares to seek these opportunities and it becomes easy and effortless for her to run her business

With fun.

Scenario-2: She makes a profit of $1000. She pays herself $200. The price of her husbands' favorite suit went up to $700 and all the slots for the Dance program that she planned to enroll her daughter, got filled up.

In this scenario, she can choose to think/react in two different ways:

Choice #1: Choose to ignore the fact that she achieved the monetary goal of $1000 profit, but blame herself/circumstances for being unable to accomplish what she wanted to do for her husband and daughter.

Consequence: By blaming herself/others for something that is not her control, she is unable to love herself unconditionally. This shows up in the way of negative emotions that affects both her personal and business life adversely.

Choice #2: Be thankful and get excited about achieving her monetary goal.

Consequence: By being thankful, she feels good and energetic and is able to think differently and take action calmly. She can look for deals in different stores and then consider buying her husbands' favorite suit at her budgeted price. She can communicate with the Dance Program co-ordinator about her daughters' passion for the program and work towards enrolling her when the slot becomes available.

Action Steps: Here are the action steps you can take right NOW:

1. Profits are better than Wages-Jim Rohn. Even if you have job, start delivering services/selling a product/teaching and generate a profit.
2. Write down the amount of profit, you would like achieve
3. Make a list of what you want to do with the profit.
