When you are telling the face in the mirror exactly what you expect to happen, ensure that you visualize it happening. Reinforce the thought with all of the stimuli that you can. Imagine what it will smell like when you have a good day, and how much better your food will taste. All of these triggers will help your own mind visualize what your good day will be like. The point of these positive thinking tips is to program your mind to see that this is the way things are going to be. If our mind sees things that way, they will become reality for you.
