Stefani and Rossdale were married for 13 years before their marriage came to an end due to his acts of infidelity. Though they are legally divorced, the marriage is permanent in the eyes of the Catholic church. This means that Stefani can’t marry Shelton in the Catholic Church because they do not allow remarriage if the other spouse is still alive.
