Wow! Just thinking about “enjoying enjoyment” sounds delightful. The definition of enjoyment includes these proposed meanings: freedom from want and distress; consciousness of the good order of things; assurance of one’s place in the universe or society; and so forth. Associated emotions include: joy, exultation, delight, bliss, and love. Happiness, pleasure, or joy is the emotional state of being happy.

With that being said, some of us aren’t sure how to be in the energy of enjoyment. Well like anything else, enjoyment is a decision and a skill. A great way to get into the habit of being in enjoyment is to have an intention. Intentions are decisions and also mini goals. So if we decided, “Today is going to be a peaceful and enjoyable day! Our intention is to experience peace and joy all day. Notice the words “joy” and “able” exist within the word enjoyable. The word enjoyable is bursting with positive energy. We are stating that we are capable and willing to have joyful experiences on a regular basis.

By using intentions regularly we are granting ourselves permission to bring joy into whatever we are doing. Examples include, “It is my intention: to enjoy the meeting… to enjoy traveling into the city… to enjoy mealtimes.” We are taking charge and deciding, “This intention is what I intend to experience.” We no longer have to wait for an invitation or perhaps an upcoming holiday/event to feel joyful.

Each time we have a positive intention, we are moving into higher energy. Each positive thought creates more positive experiences. By allowing enjoyment into our lives, we are also creating more opportunities of moments to enjoy. We are stating that no matter what happens today, it will be joyful. In order to achieve this goal, we need to develop and fine-tune our radar on having positive intentions throughout the day. If you have a positive intention and notice you currently aren’t experiencing a joyful or peaceful outcome, it is an indication that you need to refocus and re-apply your intention. Let’s say that after you made the intention to have a joyful today, you stubbed your toe. Well, you now have other decisions to make. You can opt to disapprove of yourself and your toe. You can allow this incident to wreak havoc throughout your day. Or… you can reaffirm your intention to have a wonderful and enjoyable day. By choosing to take responsibility of the incident and look for the thought(s) that caused you to stub your toe, will move you out of the victim mode and into being in charge.

The only person, who can decide what your day will be like, is YOU. Life is a decision! By making positive intentions, you’ll notice your day will keep moving towards positive. There is no limit to the amount of enjoyment that we are capable of experiencing. If things are joyful, you are on target. If things are hectic or stressful, it’s an opportunity to examine your thinking and correct what you are holding in mind.

As we begin using positive intentions, we immediately notice that our stress levels are reduced. As we continue to experience enjoyment, we are creating a positive shift. It is by-far more fun to be in the energy of enjoyment than it is to be in the energies of apathy, grief, fear, lust, anger or pride. Practice enjoyment of everything. Honestly, life is easier and calmer when we choose to experience things from the point of view as being peaceful, enjoyable, and delightful. Each moment, is a moment to enjoy, if that is your intention.

In order for us to experience enjoyment, we need to see things from a positive point of view. Enjoyment exists in the realm of CAP(courageousness, acceptance and peace). To be in the energy of enjoyment, means we make a decision, which is moving into courageousness. Then we need to accept that YES we can have an enjoyable (day…, outing…, visit…, meeting…, dining experience…, etc.). To be in peace, is effortless. There is nothing to do in peace — other than to enjoy. At the end of the day when we look back and we see, “Yes, today was enjoyable!” We know that occurred simply because we held a positive intention for everything we did.

The more we practice having positive intentions, the more goodness we are welcoming into our lives. Each intention is a mini-goal of what we are intending to create. If you went into a restaurant and ordered a cheeseburger, you wouldn’t expect the waitress to bring you a glass of tomato juice, unless of course, you ordered it. Intentions help us to get clear on what we want. Intentions guide us towards receiving goodness. Intentions move us towards continuously being positive.

Tremendous gifts exist within each of us. Enjoyment is a natural occurrence that results when we embrace enjoyment into our lives. Each positive intention creates momentum. Momentum allows us to keep letting go of the negative and therefore allows us experience more and more joyful experiences. Please remember to keep track of your gains. Gains are a gift to all, as we are all one. Make the decision today to experience total enjoyment in every area of your life. Now is a great time to experience enjoyment! Enjoy!
