It is so easy to get distracted in our daily routines. Some distractions are from others but we also have distractions in our minds where we are reminded, for whatever reason, how we have failed someone in the past. We may get distracted by how we have failed ourselves or how we have failed God. We all have those reminders, or triggers, in our head which can distract us from doing God’s will.

We are constantly reminded of the things we have done in the past that are wrong, the thoughts we have had, our shortcomings, the things we have done to ourselves that we shouldn't have. We are constantly reminded by other people of things we could improve on and do better, where we have failed them and where we have done things to them we regret. These things can bother us if we dwell on them too much.

1 Peter 5:8-9 “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.”

So we should choose to use the constant reminder of God in our lives every day. We should choose to read His word over and over. We should choose to be reminded of His greatness by looking around at all He has created. We should choose to be reminded of His love by talking to a little child. We should choose to be reminded in our conversations with Him throughout the day.

We are constantly reminded by God that he loves us, that he breathed the breath of life in us so that we may live. The good qualities we have is what He focuses on and so should we. He lifts us up and we know by His constant reminder of our good qualities what we can do on for Him on earth.

God’s reminders are eternal where the reminders from us and others are only brief here on earth. The things we are constantly reminded about from others where we have came short of their expectations are only a blink of an eye to God. However, the things we do for God will last forever. We should dwell on God’s constant reminders to do what He asks of us and remember He loves us rather than dwelling on what others think or how we feel about ourselves.

When we choose to be constantly reminded of how God loves us and what He wants us to do for Him and others, we can put aside the suffering and ill feelings we have. When we decide to resist the devil and are strong in our faith, we can choose to put God in our minds and in our lives so the thoughts we have are not reminders of our past failures but of what we can do now for God that will make a difference.
