Have you ever wondered how some people can transition through life with ease? Have you ever heard the statement, ‘everything is so easy for them.’ Or statements that attribute success to luck? Of course you have. That is because we look at some people and wonder what their secret is, what do they know that we don’t. This is the foundation of the multibillion dollar self-help conference and book business.
This problem is compounded when we go to these seminars and walk away feeling cheated. We didn’t get it. The speaker made the concept sound so easy, but we didn’t ‘get it.’
The problem is not that we lack the magic or ability. The problem lies in the fact that we ask ourselves the wrong questions. Each concept we learn forces us to ask questions. Many people the question starts and stops with ‘can I make this work?’ When they feel the answer is ‘no’, they quit trying.
This may require a dynamic change in how you process information. Instead of limiting your potential, expand it. Instead of asking whether you can do something – ask yourself how you can make it work. The ‘how’ question is the most vital one we can ask. Of course, the answer is rarely easy or a quick fix. It may even take a few answers to set the groundwork for a valid solution. But you’ll never need to face frustration and failure again if you ask yourself How.
I’ve often told people, ‘you never fail until you quit trying.’ If you ask yourself how, often enough, you are bound to find the answer that will open opportunities and lead to success.
4 Questions that Will Change Your Life
Before you can ask yourself ‘how’, you need to put the question in context. Here are 5 questions that will help you determine the right path for your life.
What is currently preventing you from reaching your goal?
The answer to this is often varied, but very rarely is there an obstacle that cannot be overcome. When you do come up with a task, set a goal, and set a deadline.
What motivates you in life today?
Why did you get up this morning? What makes you smile? What do you want to achieve in life, today? The answer to this question will help you accomplish any real goal you set out for yourself.
What are you tolerating right now in your business and personal life?
This may be lack of education or skills. This question also reveals what you are allowing to hold you back. These things sap your energy and weaken your motivations and passions
What will you do to improve your situation?
What is your plan? A failure to plan – is a plan to fail. Make a list. Develop a plan of eliminating each thing you’re tolerating.
