Spiritual awakening is never a sad experience!
Spiritual awakening means the awakening of our Atma. In other words, it is the realisation of ‘who am I’. It’s about uniting with one’s real Self i.e. the pure Soul.
The Soul is permanent in nature and is made up of never-fading bliss. When one realises that, ‘I am a Pure Soul’, one tastes permanent happiness.

What is our real Self?
Param Pujya Dadashri, founder of the Akram Vignan movement, says,
“The true meaning of Atma is Self - one’s Real form. Eternal happiness, bliss, is within you. Your real Self i.e. the Soul is an abode of infinite bliss and yet you are looking for happiness in temporary things!”

The Soul is the Self. Every Soul is an abode of infinite bliss. It means bliss is inherent within us. Once we experience the bliss of the Soul, there is nothing equal to it. This bliss is beyond the comprehension of the intellect. It is constant, never changing, steady, neither increasing nor decreasing moment to moment. The bliss of the Self just radiates naturally within us constantly.

On the other hand, the worldly happiness is fleeting. Yet one is constantly found running after it. Moreover, this happiness is subject to so many external factors, which means our joy is dependent on the given circumstances and the people we have in our life. Hence, worldly happiness is always fluctuating.

Why is Spiritual Awakening necessary?
Spiritual awakening versus our regular worldly life:
The allure towards material things gives only temporary happiness followed by a lot of unhappiness, whereas in spiritual awakening, one transcends all aspects of relative unhappiness or sadness and attains permanent happiness.
When we are drawn towards material things, it makes us constantly run life after life, but all in vain, whereas after spiritual awakening, we do not have to search for joy elsewhere as it is present right within us every moment of the day.

Worldly happiness makes us a slave for lifetime, whereas knowledge of the Self gives us an illumined independence.
Anger-pride-deceit-greed-attachment-abhorrence are the key causes of sadness and unhappiness in our life, which emerge from the seed of ignorance of the Self. On the other hand, the knowledge of the Self, attained during the spiritual awakening, helps dissolve all of our anger-pride-deceit-greed-attachment-abhorrence very easily and effortlessly.

Just as the fragrance reveals the existence of perfume, the Soul, although invisible, is discernible by its inherent blissful nature. Such Soul is what we really are (the Self)! However, it is only when, with the grace of the Enlightened being, we attain Self-Realisation, that the qualities of the Soul get uncovered. It is for this reason that although Soul, one’s real Self, is the abode of infinite bliss, people keep looking for temporary worldly pleasures only, all life. The experience of the Self is beyond the understanding of the intellect. This is why intellect keeps us entangled in worldly life all the time.

The Spiritual Awakening
Once the Soul is awakened by the Enlightened being, after this spiritual awakening, there prevails eternal bliss within. The attainment of the Self frees us from worldly misery.

Thereafter, just by following the words of the Enlightened One, one begins to remain more and more in the awareness of the Pure Soul, one experiences the bliss of the Soul, each time.

Dadashri has bestowed the knowledge of Self onto thousands of people around the world, those desirous of attaining the pure Soul in order to get free from the perpetual cycle of happiness and unhappiness.

To conclude:
Spiritual awakening, attained from a living Enlightened being, is a priceless gift that gives endless joy. The word ‘sadness’ disappears then from our vocabulary. As we dwell deeper in the real Self, greater is the joy and the bliss of the Soul that we experience. Hence, it’s not worth waiting for anymore. Let’s reach out to the living Enlightened being as soon as we can and experience the spiritual awakening!!!

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
