The eternal can never be harmful or a cause for depression; rather it is the source of absolute bliss and a reason for ultimate freedom from all worldly misery.
Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says, “Once the bliss of the Soul (Self) is attained, it never leaves. The bliss of the Soul is eternal”
Every living being is an eternal element. However, the eternal cannot be perceived through intellect. The eternal is only attained and understood through the vision of the Self.
Presently, we all are trapped in the false belief of the Self. We identify ourselves with the mind, body and name and therefore we identify with the feelings of happiness and sadness, pain and pleasure, fear and worry. This false identification will continue until we realize the real Self, and so will these reasons that could cause depression.
Only when the knowledge of the Self is attained, we start understanding that which entity is experiencing the sorrow and joy; we realize that it is the mind, body and the name (the ego)!
We really are a Pure Soul, the inherent property of which is infinite knowledge and infinite bliss (eternal happiness). After Self-Realization, since we have the vision of the Self, we come into the properties of the real Self which is to know and see, and we realize that the sorrow or joy are merely the objects to be known and seen.
Let us understand in greater depth about our eternal Self i.e. the pure Soul.
The Soul is an eternal element meaning there is no end or beginning.
The real Self of every living being is this Soul. Therefore we all are a Pure Soul, which is an abode of infinite bliss (eternal happiness). Whilst there is an abundance of characteristics pertaining to the Soul, its key properties are: infinite Knowledge, infinite Vision, infinite Energy, and infinite Bliss. These attributes are innate and hence these will never change.
Eternal happiness is the natural state of the Self, nothing can take this away from us. After Self-Realisation, the state of eternal happiness is constant and totally independent, the blissful state just happens naturally.
What happens after Self-realisation?
After attaining Self-realisation, you will not get depressed in any situation. This is because the blissful state starts spontaneously within you. The separation of the name, body and mind from your true Self during the ceremony causes this blissful state to arise, which prevents you from becoming depressed, no matter what the situation may be.
Because you now know who you are, your perception of the way you look at negative situations will change instantly. Now, the awakened awareness will remain that the fear, depression, etc. belong to body, mind and name; not to my Self.
To conclude: The eternal is worth attaining for it frees us from the bondage of worldly miseries. The one who has realised their true Self can experience the bliss of the Soul. After Self-realisation, one begins to remain in the awareness of the Soul and fearlessly know the fear, and thus, in course of time, he not only attains a stress-free state but experiences eternal happiness too.
Today, through Akram Vignan, the eternal can be attained by anyone and everyone from the Living Gnani, who is an Enlightened being having the spiritual powers to enlighten our being. So rest assured that eternal happiness can never be harmful, it only leads to infinite bliss, go to Gnani, and with his grace, attain Self-Realization.

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
