Wendy Sheppard, MSW, suffered from eating disorders - anorexia & bulimia - for many years. Eventually she went on to get her Masters in Social Work so she could work with women who suffer from eating disorders.
For many years she was a therapist, treating women with eating disorders and helping their parents and significant others understand and deal with the disorder.
Eventually Wendy closed down her practice (for health reasons) and has recently started EatingDisorders411.com. The goal of the site is to provide information on eating disorders and to foster a community where people can share their stories and experiences with eating disorders (whether you have an eating disorder, are recovered, love someone with an eating disorder or you've had any experience with someone with an eating disorder). Eventually she will add an eating disorder forum component where people can share experiences and get help from the community.
Eating disorders are devastating. And they can be fatal. But everyone can recover. Wendy hopes her site will help people in their journey for recovery.
