Having overcome my own personal battle with Bulimia Nervosa since 19, I lived with my constant inner critic, low self-esteem and self-defeating behaviours for many years before finally navigating the mental conflict that took control over my life. Looking back, the unhappy soul in me was always persuing some form of personal development – I wanted to keep growing and learning because I was never satisfied within myself. Helping and inspiring others just came naturally.
In my twenties I worked as a Weight Loss Counsellor and Lifeline Telephone Crisis Counsellor. Throughout my own recovery I was involved with the Queensland Eating Disorder Association offering counselling support and as a contributing writer for their monthly newsletter, Through The Looking Glass. I’ve published many articles for various print and online media including a major feature in Runners World magazine, and will shortly publish my first book documenting the highs, lows and hilarity of my own journey of recovery.
Using various therapies, strategies and techniques alongside my natural instinct, I can guide you in developing greater self-awareness to manage your stress effectively, change your mindset, create a more balanced life, and most importantly, replace limiting beliefs with a proactive, positive and realistic mindset determined to change your attitude towards yourself, eating and your life.
I am a passionate person and love to study! I’m constantly reading, watching, studying and learning about: personal growth & development, wealth & success, health & fitness, metabolism & hormones, mindset & affirmations. For many years I’ve followed the teachings of experts such as Louise L Hay, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Bob Proctor, Tom Venuto, Yuri Elkaim, Esther & Jerry Hicks, Greg Habstritt, Dr Robert Anthony, Dr Wayne Dyer, Dr Sherrill Sellman and Dr Mercola, to name a few.
With 18 years of experience, personal insight and professional development in health, fitness, biopsychology, counselling, coaching and wellness, my aim is to help you overcome the emotional rollercoaster of disordered eating from unresolved emotions, unmanaged stress and old sub-conscious beliefs creating self-sabotaging behaviours.
Helping others who struggle with stress and eating issues, body image and self-esteem is my true passion. I use both personal and professional experience to help you define, plan and achieve your goals with empathy, knowledge, skill and constant support. I’ll give you my warmth, generosity, strength and enthusiasm to inspire you to reclaim your identity, own your actions and take control of your life.
