Although it is always stressed that a person, in order for him to obtain a Phlebotomy Certification and become a registered Phlebotomist, must undergo a series of training and attend classes in a Phlebotomy Certification Training Program, you may also opt not to attend such classes, for what is important is to complete the necessary requirements as set by the agencies organizing and making regulations for accreditations and health issues.

    First, know the requirements. For a person to have a Phlebotomy Certification, they must first be able to pass the examinations required for every aspirant to take. For you to be able to take the examinations on the other hand, you must first make sure that you have completed the necessary requirements as set by the agencies. This includes at least one hundred clinical hours, one hundred successful venipunctures and ten successful dermal venipunctures. Once in a while, a particular state increases or decreases the required number of clinical hours or venipunctures, but the fact still remains that you have to complete such requirement.

    Trainings, although not necessary, are of course important. This is because it will teach you all the things you need to know in the field of Phlebotomy. Through trainings you will be given the chance to learn all the different methods in venipuncture, and learn all the legal provisions governing this profession. It will also give you the chance to test and prove your skills through dry lab and trainings. Trainings will also give you the rare chance to learn the proper way on how to approach your patients and how to handle medical instruments and the specimens itself.

    Although the option to either take the phlebotomy training or not will be up to you, you should still put the advantages it offers to careful consideration, in order to make sure that all the efforts you will put on will be worth everything.
