How many times have you been to the internet for what should've been an online universal tool only to fall off into the cyber abyss?
As a small business owner I've had that experience countless times. Moreover, I've held the hands of many other business owners, fledgling and seasoned, also trying to find what was really basic online "framework", or support tools that should have been relatively easy to find.
My quest into the online realm was forged as a result of exposure to seeing persistent frustration on behalf of the small business owner - including mine. Recent figures show that between 75-84% of the population have major frustration in the online experience. The online experience can pose for a frustrating one for too many people too much of the time.
Watching many a small business owner get derailed from the more important tasks at hand, like income producing activity that would put bread on the table, this repeated experience became the catalyst that would give birth to the concept of BestOnBiz - Best In Online Business Optimization. Think well-rounded comprehensive performance for online business.
I have a masters degree, and I'm a 17 year veteran in the business world. I relate to the current demands and pulls of the online business owner, I get it. My husband and I have been doing some form of entreprenuership as our main income throughout our kids lives – my son recently informed me, tongue in cheek, that we’re not “normal” – and I still laugh. He gets it and will be the next generation with some form of entrepreneurship in his life.
The small business owner represents a large part of the financial backbone of the US. For the US, 2 of 3 people either own or work for a small business. In this small business world is where new ideas, new ways of getting things done arise, sometimes out of inspiration, sometimes out of desperation, and sometimes a combination of both.
We are in an era where small business can be incredibly complicated and these hard-working, bootstrappers deserve a deep bow of respect. For small business owners and beyond, the online realm represents a still new frontier that we are still really only "getting it together".
While these issues are acknowledged, I also see and help others to realize tremendous possibilities...
We have also arrived at a time where the one voice of a small business owner can be leveraged across to the masses without state, regional or even national boundaries through advanced technology. And it can be done at a fraction of the cost or sacrifice of any other time in history, no matter what the status.
There are also automated programs that can have the capability of functioning as a silent business partner, running in the background while constantly promoting, engaging, and evaluating. I refer to this technological aspect as the small business “equalizer”.
Everyone is known for something, for me one of my “knowns” is the dig. Latching onto a project, it’s not about surfing, it’s about the excavation. My quest demanded a depth of knowledge that worked, was real, and could truly advance the business owner.
My site, http://BestOnBiz.com is a manifestation of the dramatic need, the quest, the dig, and our ongoing purpose in making a difference. With a current average visit of 20 minutes and a current bounce rate of 20% (according to Alexa, the professional cornerstone company for gathering stats on websites), it means that 4 of 5 people are finding significant relevance on the site for their business.
Within the first year of site initiation we climbed into the top .2% of the rankings out of 255 million sites globally. We really care about the growth of the business owner and believe it shows.
Coaching can be a highly diverse profession, there are many great coaches out there.
My particular forte’ is in online business development. My role as a coach in the online business realm is to help empower the business owner through training, growth, and exposure to new tools and processes - to negotiate the online maze without taking up what will be for many YEARS in the lag.
Current Online business has many different dynamics that traditional business models or marketing can miss entirely. Reading behaviors, response to image size and attention to faces, cluster reading behavior, visual breaks or the consequences without it, or general usability.
There are also many aspects to making content perform online that are different from the traditional role model of copywriting or just sales in general. Those complexities can make huge differences between the online viewer hitting the delete button before you can blurt – “What was that site again?” or the beginning of a beautiful relationship. The online “voice” that people will be more likely to tune into versus tune out of.
It may be about keyword relevance not just in terms of getting someone there, but how it may affect trust and retention in the online user. It may be about the courtesy steps that are taken in the transitional process that helps the online viewer through all while showing the markers that demonstrate you cared enough to take the time and light the path in the online format.
It’s relationshipping not just through new social media content, but in the nuts and bolts of the online experience itself. It’s also talking with people, not with the elevated throne position of forcefed credibility that's disguised as corporatese, but in the demonstrated commitment to connect and provide value, for every visitors stay.
For the coaching process, when it comes to the online business realm, it is about a combination of understanding specific needs for the individual – their goals and objectives, their concerns and their stumbling blocks, in their specific business in coordination with the online applications, and in understanding the relationship or influential differences when it comes to the online dynamic.
Within the online business realm where all can engage and all have the opportunity to thrive, personal growth, development of online business skills, and increases of functional strategies can leave the door wide open. As my guest, I’m inviting you through and am committed in providing you with the many ways in which you can go – it takes only a choice.
