Recovery Nation is a Health-Based Recovery site for both Addicts and their Partners. This means that the focus of your efforts will be on issues involving value development, life management skills, emotional maturity, etc. This as opposed to the more traditional disease-based model that is geared towards managing one's addiction, rather than one's life. That does not mean that you will not be focusing on the compulsive behavior--quite the contrary. By the end of the workshop, you will have developed a functional understanding of addiction that will allow you to put both addiction and recovery within the scope of a direct transition to health. It doesn't matter if what is being shared makes any sense to you now, should you continue on through the free workshops--it will.
This community exists to help you help yourself. It offers a comprehensive foundation of health-based education; a sincere community to provide objectivity and support; professional coaching for those who seek a more intensive, personal approach to recovery and/or healing; and, the collective thoughts and experiences of thousands who have been where you are now. The insights and tools offered are intended as supplemental resources for those already in an established twelve-step recovery program. As well as for those not interested in the twelve steps that are seeking a comprehensive, stand-alone addiction recovery/healing program. Recovery Nation offers many resources for you to use in your transition to health. Each tool can be integrated to form a single, cohesive strategy for recovery and/or healing. Additionally, community support is available from those who have been where you are now--either as a person seeking to end your addiction or a partner seeking to understand how to survive the addiction of another.
