Rachael Feinman is the Directrice (Director/Owner) of Parlez Vous Foreign
Language and Culture
Center.
Originally from Media, PA, Rachael moved to Washington
DC to attend George Washington
University. There the multicultural aspects of Washington inspired her
as she pursued a dual degree in psychology and French. While a student at
GW she fulfilled a life-long dream of living in France. Rachael spent a semester in
Paris taking classes, teaching English, and
traveling through Europe. Upon her return from
France,
she continued her studies and continued teaching French. Working as a
French instructor led to the realization that her passion for culture and
language needed a greater outlet. It was at that point she made the decision to
combine her passion, loves, and strengths to create Parlez Vous.
Through Parlez Vous, Rachael preaches about sharing world
cultures. Now Parlez Vous has grown from an idea into a success. On the heels
of Parlez Vous’ two year anniversary, it was nominated and declared 2006 New Business
of the Year. It was a huge honor for Parlez Vous and a wonderful example of how
the community has embraced Rachael’s vision of exploring the new worlds through
language.
Now, two years later, Rachael is ready to take that vision
to a wider audience. Over the past few
months she has been migrating Parlez Vous’ classes to a new and exciting online
class format. Through this interactive and innovative program she looks
forward to bringing more students and teachers together to share the languages,
and cultures, of the world.
