Mike graduated from the University of Liverpool with a B.A. Hons degree in Health & Community Studies, he then attained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and taught Adult Basic Skills at Further Education level.
In 1995 Mike set up, with his partner Janet Peace, a private tutoring business called The Tutors and successfully tutored students for 11+ entrance tests for UK grammar and independent schools. In 2004 they published their first 11+ resources and have now written full courses and over 15,000 questions, they have sold over 100,000 individual papers.
Mike is developing Verbal Reasoning resources as a means to achieve effective Improvements in Vocabulary.
The Tutors product range includes a Verbal reasoning Handbook that provides Methods & Techniques for 21 different Verbal Reasoning Question Types, the Handbook contains 20 graded questions for each type, with over 3000 additional questions inn short and long paper format.
The grading of the questions allows learners to find their own level of Verbal Reasoning and then move forward to develop a higher level of vocabulary.
The Tutors Vocabulary Building CD/Download contains over 12 000 different words in a Verbal Reasoning style format.
Mike has worked with training organisations in the UK to create student courses and training assesment courses.
Mike has studied Reflexology to Advanced Level and ran his own Alternative Health Centre in the UK.
Mike now lives in Spain on an isolated finca where he spends his time re-establishing an abandoned olive and almond orchard, renovating the traditional 350 year old masia and writing.
