Melissa is passionate about showing people that their Major Depression and Anxiety diagnosises do not have to define who they are. She does this by providing real life examples of what has worked in her life to change her predominately negative mindset to one that is positive, uplifting, and encouraging.
Experience
On May 17, 2009, after several years of a severe Major Depressive episode, Melissa attempted suicide. Her life has not been the same since then. Initially, she was very resistant to therapy, and the idea that she could ever feel better. With the help of a dedicated team of Mental Health workers she eventually realized that life could be better. Once she reached a point of stability in her treatment process, she began to share what helped her with others.
Melissa uses her blog, Sugar Filled Emotions, to share her personal experiences and her message that life can be good.
Education
