Mary Ellen Halloran holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA, a law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, CT, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. From 1971 to 1994 she held upper management and administrative positions at Scannon, Ltd., Sealy Mattress Company, Sanitas Service Corporation and The United Illuminating Company. In 1996 she moved from Connecticut to San Francisco to pursue her degree in Counseling Psychology. From 1998 to 2007 she worked as a marriage and family therapist in San Francisco. After relocating to Connecticut, in 2008 she opened Reworking Anger in Tolland and Willimantic, CT, where she provided one-on-one anger management coaching for adults either in person or by phone, anger management groups and anger management workshops. She now has a private psychotherapy practice in Willimantic, CT.
Halloran is the author of Anger: Let the Tiger Out, But Keep It on a Leash (2007) and an e-book entitled, How Did I Get Here, and Where Am I Going? (2009)
In April 2009 The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region, sponsored a workshop presented by Halloran entitled, The Power of Self Confidence: What Would You Do If You Believed You Couldn't Fail?
In October 2009 Halloran presented a workshop entitled, How Do You Reason with a Pre-Schooler: Creating More Harmony at Home, sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, Foster and Adoptive Care Services.
What I love most about being a therapist is having the privilege to learn what makes each client "tick," and witnessing the progress he or she makes toward realizing their goals in therapy and in life.
