Lola Michelin has spent a lifetime in the service of animals. Her background as a veterinarian technician and her study of Animal Science at Michigan State University provided a solid foundation for her evolution into providing and teaching animal massage.
She has practiced massage for over 20 years and on a wide range of animals and people. From college football players and Olympic rowers to international showjumping horses and the dog next door, her hands have brought the recognition of healing to many. Her work has even taken her into zoos, where giraffe and panthers and coatamundi have lined up for a chance at a massage. Wait...what is a coatamundi and how do you massage one?! Ask Lola...nothing brings her greater pleasure than talking about the power of animal massage...except maybe actually giving massage.
In 2001, Lola established the Northwest School of Animal Massage to share her expertise with others through courses and workshops. The school has had a global impact, teaching animal massage to students from all over the U.S., Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and beyond. In its 10th year, the school now offers six levels of animal massage training for dogs, cats and horses and hosts a wide variety of 2 and 3-day workshops for pet owners and horse owners including aromatherapy, acupressure and Reiki.
When she isn't teaching or attending to clients, Lola travels as a speaker to spread the word about animal massage, careers with animals and self-improvement.
As Lola says herself, "Live your passion and the universe will lay everything at your feet...it can only be so! My life is a shining example. Namaste"
