Kat Smith-Starlove is the founder of www.healthy-changes-for-you.com, which is geared towards educating and coaching families about healthy lifestyles and www.healthsiteforwomen.com, which is geared towards women's health, spirituality and balance.Kat has been in the health care industry for over 20 years. Her experience ranges from working as an RN in labor & delivery, ICU, open-heart surgery, and ambulatory care. During her nursing career she worked her way up the clinical and administrative ladder from staff nurse to her last position in nursing, that of Vice President of Clinical Services at an innovative speciality hospital in Ca. She worked on this project from the beginning of the planned hospital and managed and prepared all clinical services for licensing and opening. After completing and running this project for 5 years, she took a sabbatical and traveled throughout Europe and Asia combining exploration of different cultures, learning about health care in other countries and becoming aware of her own spiritual path. It was at this time that she decided to change paths and invest her energy in teaching people about health and prevention standards as well as studying spirituality and how it plays a role in our health and lives. When she was in Asia she studied different health care ideas and theories and now routinely incorporates some of those more natural and historical ideas into practice with Western medicine theory.
Kat has been coaching and teaching health education and prevention tips to people of all ages for 15 years and has a passion for empowering families to understand their health and gain awareness to be their own advocate and learn modes of treatments and prevention. She has incorporated Holistic and Natural therapies into her knowledge of Western/Traditional medicine for overall health. Kat continues to study how spiritualism and new age therapies can be intergrated into a traditional medical plan.
The body is a complex system and Kat believes that some of the best defenses can be natural ones. Incorporating mind, body and spirit and becoming fabulously fit and healthy are all part of your overall health index. She specializes in weight issues, and includes fitness and nutrition as part of her health coaching.
