For a representative list of my speaking and workshop topics, please visit www.attorneyatlove.com.
I also do one-on-one post-divorce counseling for a very limited number of clients. For information, rates, and availability please send a summary of your situation to jim@attorneyatlove.com.
Although my formal training is in law and mediation, my approach is more that of a coach and trusted friend. I try to challenge and encourage my readers, clients, and workshop participants to look inward, define their own goals, and live an authentic life: a life in which one's deepest values and one's everyday reality are in reasonable harmony. I do not so much believe in marriage, per se, as I believe in good marriages. I don't idealize divorce, but I see it as preferable to serving a life sentence without parole, which is the sad reality of too many marriages. Ultimately, I believe in hope, in purposeful action, and in the sustaining power of commitment to one's truest self.
