Jeannette began her training through her constant doodling as a child. She found she could express her thouhts, feelings, and memories in pictures so much more easily than through words. Her artistic tendencies continued to develop through high school and college, taking art and music classes including trumpet, guitar, keyboarding, singing, computer painting and animation, and of course, traditional art media. Jeannette eventually got her bachelor's degree in psychology, going on to complete both a master's degree in mental health counseling and a graduate degree program in expressive art therapy. She is currently a 3rd year PhD student studying Somatic Depth Psychology, a program about the body, soul, and the imagination. Jeannette loves the outdoors, staying physically active, and being creative in everything she does.
Jeannette has over twelve years experiencing working with children, adolescents, and adults in hospital, outpatient clinic, incarceration, and school settings. She has worked with clients dealing with issues ranging from adjustment issues to PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety disorders, depression, drug addiction, attachment disorders, childhood sexual abuse, and severe mental illnesses including Bipolar and Schizophrenia. Jeannette is fully licensed in the state of Utah as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist.
We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve
planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
