Ian is the founder of www.fatlossfoundation.com and is an internationally recognised exercise scientist, fitness coach, public speaker and academic, He has been regularly called upon to work with world-class athletes including many Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists, in a wide range of sports over the last 15 years.
Ian holds a degree in exercise physiology incorporating fitness testing, profiling, athlete monitoring, evaluations and advising coaches on high performance issues.
Ian has also worked with athletes in the field of fitness development, strength and conditioning, developing elite and young athletic performers speed, strength, power, agility and flexibility.
Ian is also an expert in Long Term Athlete Development practices, which allows young athletes to maximise their sport performance development at the correct points during their key growth stages thus maximising their overall potential for success.
As an education specialist Ian has presented hundreds of successful interactive workshops, presentations, lectures and training sessions around the world.
These include areas such as nutrition, hydration, training aspects, fat loss, muscle building, motivation and sport psychology, strength and conditioning, speed development, how to become a presenter, exercise physiology, lifestyle management, developing young athletes, talent identification and speaking at many coaching conferences.
Ian also works as a private performance consultant and mentor to a number of elite athletes, teams/squads and one of the worlds leading sports clothing companies.
Ian is a regular family guy with his wife Claire and their two wonderful boys Elliot and little brother Dominic. He is an Ironman Triathlete and former racing cyclist but you will find that he’s passionate about all sports.

The Fat Loss Foundation
When setting up the Fat Loss Foundation I really wanted to help pretty much everyone, not just fat free, muscular and well to be honest some pretty amazing top athletes.
So I decided to create a website purely dedicated to doing nothing but promote good health and declare war on an ever increasing public enemy these days………BODY FAT.
The key is to educate and inspire people of all ages. Taking the information on board allows you to pass on sound advice to family members and friends, spreading the word of good health and increasing the numbers who are aware of the dangers of fat, obesity and subsequent poor health.
The plan was to have a site that anyone could go to and hand pick tips, advice, books, e-books, videos, audio etc for their own use. All the advice would be from proven professionals around the world including expert sports coaches, experts and recognised online fitness professionals.
The main goal is to create as much information on nutrition, training and lifestyle for anyone at any age. The will be something for you whether you are 7, 17, 27, 47, 67 or77!
Do you want to build muscle, look good on the beach in shorts or a bikini. Do you just want to stay trim for the golf course? Do you regularly play sport?
If so there will be something there for you.
Why did I set up www.fatlossfoundation.com?
I created www.fatlossfoundation.com in response to the many, many questions I get asked by so many people ranging from elite and developing athletes through to recreational sportspeople, friends and family who constantly ask me questions on optimum training, nutrition and the million dollar question “what do I have to do to lose body fat?”
So I decided the best thing to do was pour out all the knowledge I have picked up over the years and put it all into one freely available website.
This is where you can pick up free advice and downloads including what you have in your hands now, the finished article in the form of this book or should I call it the definitive guide to fat loss, longevity, athletic development and most importantly a healthy happy lifestyle.
Much of the information contained in here goes against the general advice given in gyms around the world. I will highlight where so many gym goers go wrong, how to control your metabolism through specific foods, what kinds of training stimulate your fat loss mechanisms, train your mind to become super strong in relation to your cravings and how your body looks and go against the grain of hours of aerobic training making your workouts time effective, fat stripping and muscle blasting.
What the site isn’t! - Well it’s not a fluffy, lightweight set of abdominal crunches and lifting bean tins to music. If you thought that you’ve come to the wrong place. Elite athletes don’t attain success without real effort in mental and physical training coupled with an optimum eating behaviour.
What the site is!: it is a constantly updated and wide range of time effective workouts that you can turn your hand to, coupled with a sensible nutrition plan. Remember the old adage:
“You cannot out-workout a poor diet!”
AND
“Proper nutrition must come first”
So in order to get great results your nutrition plan must come first, you can even make great gains just by getting your eating behaviour sorted out and not even doing any training. I have very satisfied clients who have lost pounds in weight just through following an educated eating programme. Believe me its not that difficult.
