I was born in Brooklyn,N.Y. in the early 1960's. I seen more in the 11 years I lived there then most see in a life time. At an early age, I was introduces to viloance, drugs, and the worst people can be. Moving to Queens in the 70's life seemed different, more laid back and alot less stress. Getting married in 1984 and having children seemed to be the best time of my life. With a good job and family what else would I need. I was happy, but my wife wasn't, she wanted to get out of the city, actually the state. So we did, we moved to Florida and things got very hard financially. With no decent jobs available I turned to driving Tractor Trailers. Just as I was about to start a great paying job, things fell apart and we ended up moving back to N.Y. We got back on our feet and continued. A few years later the marriage fell apart. I met a woman and we moved in together, losing the the job I had I turned back to truck driving. With the termoil of my marriage breaking up and my children being caught up in the middle and also turning against me,me and the woman in my life moved to Houston,Tx. one year later. Being tranfered to a new terminal in San Antonio, we settled down and she gave birth to a little girl. We ended up leaving Texas and moving to Pennsyvania where I am living now. Sadly the relationship ended and we went our seperate ways. I can go on, but its all downhill from there. The brightest thing that shines in my life and always will is my daughter, at age ten now she is something else. I spent every weekend and holiday with her since she was 7 months old. There is my wealth, the unconditional love I get from her.
I believe the simple things in life are more important then anything. I find, the more people have the more miserable they are. People ask me, whats important? How can I walk around smiling when I have so many things going wrong? The answer is simple, Hold yourself to a higher selfworth and everything falls into place. The most important things aren't materialistic, they are the ones you love. If more people put the effort into their families and friends (notice family comes first) I believe they would be happier and feel more rewarded.
