Filters-Now is a leader in the air filtration industry. In business since 1999, we are a large distributor and manufacturer or air filters, including our own line of Accumulair air filters.
We believe every one should have the opportunity to breathe clean air, and with proper air filters in place, that opportunity exists. Did you know that indoor air is up to six times more polluted than outdoor air? Hard to imagine isn’t it? But, many studies have been performed to prove this. In some cases, indoor air has been found to be 100 times more polluted than the outdoor air.
Air filters are part of all our lives. It is my duty to inform the public of how easy and cost effective it is to clean the air in your home, providing your family a better quality of life.
Have you tried to purchase air filters, only to be confused by the different types of air filters available? You are not alone. A lot of people find this confusing, so here is a quick, simplified overview that will have you educated and ready to purchase the right type of air filter.
Air filters are rated on a MERV scale. What is means isn’t important, for now. What is important is the rating. Here is how it breaks down:
MERV 8 - These are great at providing your air conditioner/furnace with superior air flow, while eliminating up to 20 times more dust than standard fiberglass models
MERV 11 - These air filters are better at removing dust, but create a little more resistance for your unit. Up to 30 times more efficient at removing dust, these filters are better suited for people with mild allergies.
MERV 13 - If you or some one in your home has allergies or asthma, a MERV 13 is a great fit. This air filter is up to 60 times better at removing dust from the air, removing allergens such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites and smoke. They put more of a strain on your unit, so your power bill could rise a little.
