After spending two years in Amway and over 3 years in Usana, I can say that using the traditional marketing methods suck! Bullying your family and friends to join your business is no way to build one.
Why spend all your time and effort focusing on individuals who most likely aren't motivated to start a business in the first place? And by the time you realize this you have burnt yourself out and usually no longer have motivation to do anything else.
I did that and I tried cold-calling people that also didn't bear any fruit, so I went on in the world of employee Just Over Broke (JOB) and signed up for another six years in the U. S. Air force. While on Active duty I also had two part-time jobs that I would work before duty or on the weekends.
Back then I was hungry and willing to work every waking hour of the day. Because I learned self discipline and honed my work ethic while in uniform I thought I could work myself to financial success.
Let me tell you I was wrong! I burnt myself out so bad that I started having health problems! I suffered stomach cramps, constipation, and migraines. Hearing loss and my knees started to go from being under aircraft all day. I was falling apart at a young age.
Prior to my leaving the Air Force by mere months my father was laid off two years before his retirement by company infrastructure change. This caused him and my mother to lose their house, cars, and any dreams of a relax retirement. I'll never forget when they called me to borrow an amount of money I didn't have, I choke up thinking about that now.
It was at the nine year mark that I was able to step out of the Air force and go after my dream of working in the Film and TV industry.
In 2005, I moved to Las Vegas to pursue my dream, I didn't move to L.A. because I knew the cost of living would eat me alive out there with my little savings. I found marginal success in Vegas; I did successfully get my foot in the door of the industry. I worked on TLC's What Not to Wear, Fox's Hell's Kitchen, a Pfizer commercial, and DreamWorks' Transformers. But at the end of the day it was an entry level job which meant long hours and little pay. I was complemented on my work ethic and even given the day off and still paid because I was told I earned it!
And I was told I had to move to L.A. to find true success, so I lined up a National Guard job and lived out of a motel waiting on the Commander to make up his mind and decide if he would hire me.
That job would have allowed me to live near L.A. and provide me with a secure check and given me the time I needed to pursue film and TV. I ended up spending two months out there waiting for that job to pan out in the mean time I loaded 18 wheeler trailers with Walgreen's items. By far the worst job I have ever had, you have to fill the trailer from front to back! It's back-breaking and tiring work, I only earned $360 a week, the motel was $300 a week, so I eventually lived out of my free car that was given to me by a good friend. It was then that I decided to hell with this starving artist B.S.
I moved back to Las Vegas, where I had support and puttered along driving cabs and doing temp work. I also did a lot of soul searching and I spoke with the universe and requested a job that would pay me $80K a year or more. Ask and yea shall receive! I miraculously found that job and I became a Air Force contractor, downside was now I had to go back to Iraq (went on active duty) to make the bulk of my income.
I was also diagnosed with Diverticulitis not Diverticulosis (I had the worst form) and had 8" of my Sigmoid colon removed last year. I moved my parents out here and got a house so that I could help them out. My mother has been taxed taking care of my father who suffered some horrible medical problems due to his stress level and depression he suffered due to being laid off.
Now years later I realized I'm still working for that same company and building their business, which sucks! Because as the company grows, I teach a 1/3rd of their work force, fix their broke planes, make their training videos, rewrite their books, and with my fellow employees take them from a $11 million company to a $100 million company in 3 years. And my paycheck has only gone up $2 an hour, they tell me daily how valuable I am but yet I don't get to play with the big boys at the management level.
I have realized I'm a fool to think anything will change as we grow, it might but I no longer choose my income to be based on anyone’s' employment of me. I could complain a lot more and tell you all horror stories about my job, but why...I no longer wish to focus energy into that.
I want to focus energy into doing what I love and pursuing film and TV as free independent who does it for fun. I love entrepreneurship first and foremost because it gives me control of my life and the freedom to pursue my interest! My interest are helping you succeed in your chosen business and gaining control of your life! So together we will help many others do the same! I can't do it all by myself but together we can build something we all love and build our $1 million dollar ships to freedom!
So it hit me one day that through my misadventures in Network marketing and other ventures that I had done. I always had it wrong! Your success in business is not directly the result of your product, sure that's important but if people don't know about what your selling you will never make money! Your success is directly tied to your marketing. And let's face it most MLM's do a horrible job teaching you how to market!
Don't get me wrong they do a great job of teaching you personal development, bookkeeping, and providing you strategies to build your business. But their marketing training is appalling!
I decided to get back into network marketing (my primary business) a couple months ago because I was blown away by the business model and I have never seen it done anywhere before. So that peaked my interest and I thought to myself, “ if I can successfully market my business this will set me on my freedom ship and give me the time I need to pursue my other passions.”
So through my wonderful up line Darcy White, Cedric Harris, and Monte Bertrand I was introduced to a marketing system that is so astounding that I can't even begin to truly express how thankful I am to have been introduced to it!
Imagine marketing your business and having only people who are looking for your solution contacting you!
Imagine making money from people who are not in your primary business day and night 24/7!
Imagine people being so thankful that you helped them to solve their marketing dilemma that they practically beg you to join your primary business!
