Donna Belk is a writer, educator and workshop facilitator in the field of death and dying. She works with individuals and families as a coach or guide for those facing end-of-life issues.
Through her workshops (yogaofdying.com), Donna combines the philosophy of her 30 years of yoga study with her expertise on issues of death and dying. Donna is the creator, author and editor of hospiceyoga.com; a website devoted to assisting people with informational articles and honoring hospice patients through their stories and in this way passing on some small significance of their lives.
Donna holds a BA from South Texas University, but considers her most important educational credential to be her own near death experience which occurred in 1985. Donna’s teaching style is warm, light-hearted and compassionate.

Just as living is an art, so too is dying. Everything we do, every expression of our Selves, is art. This inspires me to be thoughtful about every choice I make.
The Yoga of Dying (yogaofdying.com) is information offered in a workshop format combining the topics of yoga and dying. Savasana, or corpse pose, is practiced in nearly every yoga class, but seldom do we talk about the ultimate use of the pose in the act of dying.
This workshop helps promote your understanding and acceptance of death, and gives you concrete tools for being around people who are near death. This work invites you to live life more fully.
“There was something so exceptionally comforting and calming about this workshop. It gave me a strong feeling that the people I’ve lost are now in a place of bliss, and at the same time, I know they aren’t as far away as I’ve feared.” ~ Melissa Roddy, Yoga Teacher Austin, Texas
