After working in the construction industry for many years Diane saw the need to improve the communication gap between generations. She has a BA in Conflict resolution and a Masters in Behavioral Management. She became a certified Hypnotist and NLP Practioner in 1998. In 2000, she opened Alternate Pathways, Inc. a Holistic Information Center, where she conducts workshops for Stress and Anger management. In her spare time she volunteers at “The Anthony House”, a homeless and transitional shelter in Zellwood Fl. where her course work in stress and anger management is an integral part of the Adult Leadership Program. This experience prompted Diane to write her first book, “The Gathering”, a collection of real life situations presented in short stories and story poems. They are meant to bring about an awareness of how we tend to hold our past as a testimony for our future. Diane has shared her poetry with Deepak Chopra on satellite radio as well as local radio stations. She is published in Aerosports Magazine as well as “The Messenger” where she uses her subtle humor and real world experiences to prompt her readers to tap into their intuitive feelings and trust their higher source for guidance and enlightenment. It is her intention to bring emotional understanding and healing to people from all walks of life through the massage of forgiveness and unconditional love.
Introduction This book, it is a Gathering of thoughts and points of viewIt’s meant to start you thinking … of what is really bothering you Perhaps you’ll want to read it … one time or maybe two Whatever the case may be it’s meant to bring joy to you The Spiritual Connection The giraffe, in its spiritual definition, represents one’s potential to see beyond the obvious. As the tallest of animals at nearly 18 feet, and with a neck as long as 7 feet, the giraffe may seem clumsy and awkward. However, its weight is distributed quite evenly. It is only vulnerable when it bends down to drink water. A lesson to gain from this magnificent animal is the ability to view our lives in a way that is both grounded and flexible. And when we choose to grow spiritually, exercising our free will, we will see past the limitations that are set before us. Like the giraffe, we must be willing to stick our necks out and see beyond the obvious. When we are dealing with deep-seated emotions, we have a tendency to emulate the ostrich, rather than the giraffe. But once we take responsibility for our behavior and forgive ourselves, as well as forgive those who have offended us, we find that we become sure-footed and able to go long distances without a drink, like the giraffe. So the giraffe may serve as a reminder that when we lose sight of what was meant to be (our unconditionally loving God-self) we will sink into a mundane way of life We risk losing our true Spiritual connection.
