Denise attended Rhode Island School of Design. She was a stay at home mom for years, raising 6 kids, 2 dogs and 6 cats. During those years she volunteered for many organizations: Girl Scouts, Youth Soccer (BOD), American Heart Assoc., My Brother's Table (a free meals program) and an animal shelter (foster mom). to name a few.
Before starting her own businesses, Clear the Clutter and refinedesign, Denise worked at the Boston Design Center. Finding organization to be vital to life, she decided that helping people organize their own spaces would be a challenging and satisfying business. In 2003, Clear the Clutter was born, followed by refinedesign in 2008. Clear the Clutter was awarded Boston Magazine Best of Boston Home 2008. The same year, realizing the special needs of the elderly, she brought the idea to her health department and Council on Aging, and the Marblehead Task Force on Hoarding and the Elderly was formed. More recently Denise has worked with families who are overwhelmed with handling the estates of family members.
Recently, refinedesign collaborated with Sotheby's to form a boutique executive relocation service. We have a professional team ready to help busy people relocate seamlessly and flawlessly!
Many people don't realize that having too much stuff weighs them down. The most common themes I hear when talking to new clients are chaos and a feeling of paralysis; can't move forward, can't make decisions, just can't think!
Having workable systems (of organization) in place allows people freedom to breathe and see clearly.
