I have a really great time doing what I do and I think I have a unique way of bringing my education and experiences together for the benefit of the individuals and families I work with. I understand the cause and effect relationship between physiology and psychology – body, mind, and spirit. The connection is not just true on an individual level, but within families and communities.
You see, when one part of a person’s being is struck off balance, perhaps by an accident or illness or other traumatic event, everything else becomes unbalanced. If Mom or Dad, vital members of the family team, are not functioning well, the family framework begins to crumble. When that happens, the personal security of each person in the home is challenged, their self-esteem is attacked, everyone’s health is at risk, and relationships suffer. The hurt cascades into all areas of life – sometimes crushing the spirits of the victims the moment the disaster occurs. Other times, the hurt slowly wears away at sacred family bonds until a husband and wife wake up and realize they have fallen out of love with one another…or that a beloved son or daughter has left with a broken spirit and no intention of returning.
I have studied and understand the development of personality and the role of the dynamics of personality in a family environment. Each person in your family has a unique perspective on life from which they shape their understanding of the world. Whenever we argue with each other, it is often because we have a different perspective on the topic. So I helps families to better understand themselves and one another. I encourage self-discovery through the MBTI and Gallup Strengths Finder assessments. I facilitate group interactions and help families identify each individual’s meaningful role in the family. Even though each person has a different personality and different worldview, they are all from the same family and can use that tie to build strong bonds. After we discover each persons special qualities and define family roles, I help everyone develop their strengths to perform their role to the best of their abilities.
When it comes to financial responsibility, my husband and I have walked the walk and paid off over $30,000 in debt in just over 13 months. I became a Certified Christian Financial Coach and a member of AACC so I could better understand the structure and strategies for navigating spending, debt, investing, and taxes for families. I will help you become debt free and responsible. I will coach you and your family through debt-repayment and creating a spending plan. Plus, I have a network of professionals who help support families with special issues or questions and I provide you with resources you need for giving, saving, and spending.
In my course-work for my Bachelor’s degree, I studied the way humans develop bio-socially, cognitively, and psycho-socially throughout the life span. That is a lot of jargon just to say that I understand how a human being develops – mind, body & spirit. I understand each unique perspective and aim to treat each person with compassion, wisdom, and understanding, regardless of age, race, gender, or religion. My extensive knowledge of human development helps me tailor programs to suite the needs of each family specifically. I create customized fitness and nutrition plans, family fitness programs, and personal, career, and spiritual discovery programs.
