My love for acupuncture began many years ago when I received treatment which changed my life. I have been practicing 5 Element Acupuncture since 1997. This tradition is the oldest form of acupuncture that exists. 5 Element Acupuncture works with the individual as a whole, taking into consideration body, mind and spirit and does not just focus on symptoms. Symptoms are a signal from the body that there is an underlying imbalance. My job is to determine where that imbalance lies, and to redirect the energy to bring about healing.
I specialize in chronic issues, stress management, emotional wellbeing, addictions (smoking, alcohol, food), women's health, integrative cancer care, fertility, weight loss issues and preventive care.
I love the work that I do, and I am a caring, considerate practitioner. In August, 2007, I completed advanced studies at Yue Yang Hospital, and Shanghai University in Shanghai, China. This was an experience that I will always treasure!
Patients may chose treatment with acupuncture, acupuncture and herbs, or for those who prefer, Chinese Herbal Medicine. I am a Chinese Herbalist and can prescribe personalized formulas that heal on the body, mind and spirit level.
A dream of mine has manifested, and I have opened the Gate of Hope Holistic Center. Healing services offered are Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Colonhydrotherapy, Cranial Sacral Manipulation, Homeopathy, Massage: (Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue & Pregnancy Massage), Naturopathy, Shiatsu, Reiki, and Reflexology.
Initially, a 2 hour appointment is required, with a complete medical intake of all the bodily functions. That information is translated into Chinese Medicine where a personalized treamtment is administered.
After the initial visit, 5-6 successive weekly visits (1 X per week) are required so that I can work on the underlying imbalance. These visits are approximately 1 hour in duration. A maintenance plan is then established where a patient would come for a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks depending on their healing.
Treatment by appointment only
