Kancho Cameron Shayne has devoted 22 years to the study and mastery of body organization and awareness through the classical arts of Yoga, Martial Arts and Meditation. His keen understanding of mind/body dynamics, coupled with an eye for the complex qualities of movement has made him one of the most sought after mind-body-spirit innovators in the world.
His integration of Yoga, Martial Arts, Meditation and holistic health are drawn from decades of continuous study starting at the age of 12 when he began studying the traditional Korean art of Moo Du Kwon. After 8 years of study he was introduced to Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do, which had heavy influences on his understanding of the science of technical movement. At the age of 21 he began studying Hatha Yoga in New York, completely transforming his understanding of internal energy.
In 1999 he returned to Los Angeles and began studying Okinawan Karate-Do, which introduced breaking techniques and an array of weapons including the nunchaku, bo and katana. To complete his overall understanding of leverage, body organization and power Kancho began studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Rickson Gracie.
During his 12 years in Los Angeles he worked as a personal bodyguard for industry entertainers such as Sean Penn and Charlie Sheen. His private students include actors such as Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Meg Ryan. He helped Olympian Kerri Walsh win a gold medal in 2005 as well as choreograph the fight sequences with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker for Rush Hour 1 & 2.
In 2004 he abdicated his former black belt rankings assuming the title Kancho - Creator and Founder of Budokon International.
Currently he travels throughout the US, Japan and the UK teaching Budokon to thousands of students from many different walks of life.
